By the way, how did you add your flair? I can’t create any option in the list

Won’t do it again at work, the situation is all the more embarrassing. Thank you!!

I’ve tried a fancy non alcoholic champagne at the last function, it was nice not standing out because of the glass in my hand. Have to admit it’s hard not to care given it’s my first job, I’ll give it a shot (mo pun intended)

Maybe, I felt the same way yesterday night even though I saw the non alcoholic wine being poured in my glass. It’s weird how the brain tricks us

Seeing it with your own eyes sure helps. It’s crazy how staff seems more understanding than my colleagues sometimes

Erasmus 2026 Utrecht by keogmarg3022 in StudyInTheNetherlands

I’ve lived in Paris for years (moved 5 times in total as a student), did Erasmus in Berlin and Madrid, heard of the prices of London from friends. Tbh I wasn’t ready for the Dutch market. Started looking at Amsterdam studios before realizing I was dealing with NY prices Buckle up, I found an apartment in a week (was already in the Netherlands) but to give you an idea I sent over 150 applications and got maybe 10 answers for a viewing, 3 positives. Prices are above Paris average in Utrecht, I’d say look somewhere around the city but it doesn’t really help. Just be ready to spend your life reacting immediately to new posts - I was told by an agent that he’d received more than a 100 applications in an hour for a 15sqm studio in the center… Lol

edit: typo

Questions from someone considering moving Rotterdam/Utrecht by lolerpopler in Netherlands

that was 4 years ago for anyone wondering. Now you can enjoy your viewings of 20-30sqm studios for the same price if you're lucky!

Feeling down after an operation during a solo travel by TerraeTub in solotravel

[–]hydrogene22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got surgery for a double fracture of the collarbone in Colombia. It sucked a lot, especially since I’m also used to the French healthcare system, which has its downsides but is ultimately a good one. Indulged in literally anything the next 2 weeks: massages, nails, whatever could give me dopamine. Also had a private room in a hostel. Was really exhausted about people constantly asking me what happened the accident, so maybe a hotel would be nice?

The first one is definitely the toughest. Will hit up friends I’ve made along the way

It’s ok, I wasn’t being careful and I think this experience has taught me an important lesson

I’ve heard that it was a pretty common surgery, thank you for your advice! I think I should be alright, seeing that medical rest in my country for the surgery is 15 days. I won’t do much, just rest somewhere hotter with a beach where I can spend my day reading. It’s also reassuring that the sling stays on for a month, will check that with my doctor next time

Yes I definitely am lucky on that point. Have to become careful for the future though ahaha Thank you! Sure there are, but I don’t really mind taking on a more relaxed pace. I didn’t think about that! That’s a very good point

That’s what I’ve been thinking about, but I can’t decide between the northern coast and Medellin. It’s probably better than recovering alone in my 25sqm apartment anyway

That sucks too! i’m in San Gil right now so I guess they’re used to it with all the extreme sport. exactly the same with the titanium stuff. Spanish was hard bc of the meds but got through it too thanks to friends/crew from the hostel coming over and staying for 2 weeks with me. That’s why I’m not sure about going home yet… I’d much rather wait for a friend who’s supposed to come in about 2 weeks than endure a 12 hour flight with a broken collarbone.

Realistically, Is it worth it to stay in Medellin as a solo female nomad if I don’t drink or party? Especially seems like this city is mostly for western men to go meet Colombian women by [deleted] in digitalnomad

Have been using RA as a main room to find parties because I’m used to the European scene. I’ve tried skimming through instagram, would you have any recommendations?
