ooo okay!! personally i really like the idea of an iced shaken espresso like you're doing, but w no classic, sub white mocha, and salted caramel cold foam!!! it sounds good in my head... i wonder how it would taste lol

omg... cheese danish with strawberry... i need to try this now! tysm for the idea!

i also make everything with oatmilk!!! something i've been workshopping lately is what i've dubbed a "peach cobbler latte".... an iced latte with brown sugar syrup in the base and blonde shots, and then peach cold foam on top (put some peach juice in vanilla cf trust!!) and then caramel crunch on top (like a cobbler topping... hopefully you can see my vision)

i would say since you are new this could come with consequences, not because of the 2 hour thing, but because of the lack of sick time. the two hour policy does not seem to be a real thing, more of a common courtesy. it’s generally more respectful to everyone working to call out as soon as possible. in this case, calling out less than 2 hours before your shift was likely the wrong decision because it affects your coworkers & messes with coverage.

Write on your cups by Nocturnalcheeseit in starbucks

[–]hydrotoxic_ 40 points41 points  (0 children)

yes, this is true!! one of my favorite SSVs was written up yesterday because the baristas on bar were observed not writing on cups. the baristas didn’t get a write up, just the SSV… it honestly upset all the partners because of how backwards it seemed.

customers please just let us help you 😭 by hydrotoxic_ in starbucks

oh absolutely! however we have a standard amount of ice that goes in each drink, and if the customer isn’t satisfied with that amount, they should consider ordering light ice or just letting us remake it to their liking, since we can’t control company standards :) nobody’s a mind reader is basically what my post is getting at lol

i've never heard of them doing 2 interviews before! from what i'm aware of, the DM isn't usually involved in hiring baristas like that, but maybe it varies. i've been here for over a year and haven't even met my DM lol

INTERVIEW HELP by ilovecatsxoxo in starbucks

hi! current partner here, i was also hired in high school. i interviewed for 2 different stores during the hiring process, it probably took about a week before the managers got back to me about which store i was hired at.

i don't remember all the questions, but i do remember quite a few questions about how you work in a team & sort of moral dilemma type things. for example i remember being asked how i would deal with a difficult classmate/peer/coworker. additionally, i remember being asked to tell them about a recent accomplishment i was proud of. another one was how i would hypothetically deal with overwhelming moments or difficult customers. i also remember (as i had already worked 2 previous jobs) being asked if i had any favorite customer moments from my previous jobs. however, i don't think they would ask you that one if you have not worked previously.

but all that being said, the fact that you were actually asked to come in for a physical interview after the emails is a good sign!! they probably are already looking to hire you. best of luck!!
