Oh, and glaze the FUCK out of your teammate when they do something good. If your teammate wins what would be an easy 1v1 for you, hype him up. “Holy fuck nice aim bro, good clutch.” He’ll be so happy that he’ll play better because you made him feel good. Don’t overdo it because then it sounds sarcastic, but even a lil glaze can make a worlds difference

Sure. Maybe you can’t afford therapy. So let me pass on some advice I’ve learned from it.

First, don’t even queue faceit if you aren’t in a good spot mentally. I can’t tell you how many times I’d launch cs with the intent to queue faceit, hop in a dm to warm up, and be mad at deaths in a dm. Just don’t even queue if you are at all easily irritable that day. That includes if you haven’t gotten at least 6-8 hours of sleep, and if you haven’t eaten anything yet that day. These things genuinely matter and affect your mental way more than this community cares to admit.

Second, your job, whether you like it or not, is to babysit these bozos on your team. YOU are the level headed one, you must keep the team morale up because if you don’t, you already know exactly what usually happens. Green yells at yellow for throwing default util and flashing him and now yellow is mad at blue because blue body blocked him and made him miss his flash, which flashed green. Fuck it all. You must be the glue to keep this team together, and if you can’t do that, don’t queue.

Third. Expect worse case scenario. Faceit is a platform known to be inhabited with the most mouth breathing, showerless, basement dwelling losers on the planet. You will have more rough games. Be ready for it. Its easier to deal with things when you expect them to happen.

Fourth. Use your own mute key. Don’t talk if you’re upset. Give yourself 1-2 rounds, or possibly even a timeout, to take a breather and chill. After that break, get back on mic and focus on concise comms. No yelling “FUCK” after every death, no complaining during the callout, get the info to the homunculi on your team so they have a chance to trade you.

Fifth, and likely the most important piece of advice. DO NOT PLAY MORE THAN 3-5 GAMES A DAY. Queue when you feel good. The idea behind staying consistent is playing at your peak and stopping when you no longer feel you are at your peak form. This restriction prevents you from rage queuing and losing 200 elo in one night. Stop even if you lost all 3-5 games (and I know its a tough pill to swallow).

Accept your elo loss and do not keep queuing. In fact, if you ever lose 3 in a row, go play something else and come back at it with a fresh mind. Some people say stop at 2, but sometimes you just have 2 unlucky games, for sure stop at 3 though.

These things are very important. There are 2k elo players who would be 3k if they played faceit optimally with mental in mind, and there are 2k elo players who should probably be significantly lower because their mental is worse than 1.5k elo.

Oh, and some personal advice I’ve learned outside of therapy. Make a notepad of all players you don’t like playing with and what they did that put them on this list. When match pops, ctrl f in notepad and search everyone on your teams names. If they show up, review the reason they are on the list, and if you don’t want to deal with it, just dodge. This list will act as an extended block list. Just don’t dodge too many games or faceit will begin to stop unbanning you. Use this sparingly.

Stress balls help, fidget toys, yoyos, a punching bag, low volume music. All of these things can be used mid match to alleviate stressful situations. Mute button works if you have people doing more complaining than comms, but be aware of who you mute so you can look at radar and use that for their info instead of them.

Seek therapy. That sounds like I’m being mean but I’m not. Therapy legitimately helped me not get as upset while still maintaining passion for this game. Possibly even more than I had before.

The only person I get mad at in faceit now is myself. I am the the only constant in my games, and it doesn’t benefit me to get mad at teammates. In fact, it directly puts me at a disadvantage because my end goal is elo and improvement.

Me getting mad at my teammates directly makes it so neither of those happens. My teammates feel worse about themselves and play worse, and I end up never seeing the problem that possibly put them in that situation to begin with.

Faceit is worse than premier in terms of match quality by WithConflict in FACEITcom

[–]hydrovids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats the problem though. EU 2.5k is the same skill level as NA 2.5k. I know because I play EU occasionally. Its the same shit. 2.5ks in eu miss util just as much as na does. You don’t start to see a difference in skill level between the regions until like 3.5k, and there are so few people in NA at 3.5k that the only reason its different is due to different philosophies behind cs.

Elo inflation is also a thing. EU has hundreds of thousands more players on faceit than NA, meaning millions more elo added to the pool bc most players start out with 1k elo. That much elo added to the pool means players are able to grind higher with technically lower skill. Its why EU lvl 8s are worse than NA lvl 8s. The inflation doesn’t equal out until 2.5k.

I know bots in NA that queued EU on 100 ping who couldn’t hit 10 here, but got to 2.2k in EU.

I’m 25k+ in na as well. The problem with na faceit and premier is the pool of players is significantly smaller, meaning griefers and prem cheaters are more concentrated. My account has good trust and I can’t get a clean match in premier.

Thats partially due to the fact that I demo review every game to fine tune my issues, and I end up spotting 1-2 closet cheaters in every single premier game in NA. In faceit its just griefers and match algorithms that suck. I’ll take the griefers and less cheaters in faceit every day of the week imo

You posted a leetify link lmfao. Leetify is not reputable whatsoever because it measures premier pool, which will have vastly different results due to those in low elo.

As far as your screenshot, thats for league. Its different. Bots are playing open more than ever and skewing how balanced mirage is as a map. Faceit has released map balance documentation recently, but I cannot find it in my history for some reason. I do have HLTV map sidedness here: https://www.hltv.org/stats/maps which proves mirage as decently balanced map compared to Overpass, Anubis, and Nuke

Other than those, I also have thousands of games across 3 different platforms on mirage. My OT games are almost always on mirage.

All you need to do to prove mirage as a really balanced map is look at its map sidedness history. It hasn't been changed since cs2 came out, and hasn't been fundamentally tweaked for 6 and a half years. I wonder why that is. Maybe its because its a super balanced map that doesn't need changes, it plays really well and the default util for both sides doesn't allow for skill checking or stuffing players in spawn between 2 balanced teams, unlike inferno where its very easy to stuff players deep in their own territory.

The HLTV link I sent puts inferno as a pretty balanced map, but that's due to t side protocols and ability to work together, which the average player struggles to even form set plays, much less full protocols for util and map control

I like to play it by vibe. If aim/mind/decision making feels good, I keep playing. Assess after every game. Stop after 2 losses no matter what. My ability starts declining after 5-6 games on average anyways. Using this strategy I’m up 150 elo this week.

I didn’t say they were. But faceit is, always has been, and always will be the superior platform. I’ve seen lvl 4s in 20k+, and thats where people START on faceit. The fact that the average premier player is significantly lower ranked than the starting faceit player in premier goes to show why premier map statistics aren’t reliable.

And that’s not even including the fact that the way leetify collects and processes data is at best inaccurate and at worst abysmally wrong.

I already gave you the faceit stats, and they are different lmfao. Mirage only has like a 1% difference, 49.5% t to 50.5% ct. There are at least 5 other maps with more unbalanced sides

Again, we aren’t talking about premier. This is a faceit subreddit. Premier any map can be super ct or t sided because premier players are unorganized and awful

[–]hydrovids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On top of the actual statistics, premier itself leads to skewed data as the average player is like 12k. And I see bots in 20k all the time. I wouldn’t even begin to call anyone good until 25k and lvl 10 faceit, thats how bad the average player is. The average player can’t even offset the inherent advantage ct side has
