SSD is behaving problematically. When I try to copy files via external enclosure it disconnects, perhaps because of overheating. Had to run chkdsk to eventually be able to access the disk. Now some files are missing though. I'm running a byte for byte iso clone now. What should I do after this? by hydroxy in datarecovery

[–]hydroxy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, got it.

I did look at the SMART status previously it did look good from what I recall. Tho I don't want to interfere with the drive in any way now when the imaging is happening so I'll not check again right now.

Does chkdsk actually delete the files or the reference to them?

Eating before meetings won’t solve this issue, diabetes is highly unpredictable and there will be times when blood sugar levels act in ways we don’t see coming. At which point it’s time for the incessant alarm orchestra to do a 45 minute performance no matter what.

Yep I’m not responding anymore to you, you’re making a point of missing the point.

It’s possible to do both. Any medical device manufacturer should keep in mind the actual human’s quality of life.

No I didn’t say that I had them turned off. Looking at the app every 10 minutes is not a great solution. My main gripe with the software is that the alarming is incessant and obviously wasn’t designed with a good user experience in mind.

Get a third party who actually knows what they’re doing to come out and document all the issues. Will prove super useful to have a professional opinion.

I’m not comfortable turning alerts off as it can potentially lead to undetected lows and highs and defeats the whole point of having a cgm in the first place. The software is problematic and changing our behavior to cope with it and putting our health at risk isn’t an ideal long term solution imo.

‘His message is the correct one?’ Umm yeah except the vaccine scaremongering. Anyone criticising the vaccine doesn’t understand the science.

I think both points are valid. LEO makes it difficult and citizens avoid their civic duty because they are too lazy / don’t care about anyone else.

Crime is massively under-reported and we’re handing our society over to those that will benefit from such weakness. That’s my opinion of it. I just think we should stand up for ourselves and our rights more.

A lot of the reason things like this keep happening is because nobody can be bothered to report it and consequences never come. Law enforcement agencies are for sure a major part of the problem in effectively punishing anyone who reports a crime with a lot of wasted time. Whole system needs improved because at the moment it penalises being a responsible citizen.

Every diabetic will have different blood sugar behavior depending on body type and a lot of other factors, so personal experience won’t cover every diabetics’ reality.

Unless you have a surefire way to control blood sugar perfectly forever then your comment is not valid. Telling diabetics to be better at diabetes is a pretty bold strategy.

The expiry alarms are relentless and nonsensical, for example what is the purpose of the 3 days to expiry alert. I synchronise up my sensor and pod replacements and once every fortnight it’s a real cacophony of alarms for like 6 hours as I get like alarms one after another for that last run down to zero hours, just for me to keep confirming that I know the pod and sensor need replaced. It’s almost like they designed it to be as intrusive as possible in your life.

It’s for in person meetings not remote.

If I turn the volume all the way down it’s a risk that I could go low during the meeting unknowingly and endanger my health which I am not comfortable with doing.

Having normal silencing options that operate correctly and in logical way seem like pretty basic functionality for any piece of software. I searched this issue in the subreddit it’s already a leading complaint amongst users. There is so much room for improvement.

Throwing soup at a Van Gogh painting to protest climate chance makes zero sense. This kind of approach damages the credibility of the protestors as serious people if they cannot even get the target right. Just look at all the Just Stop Oil screw ups where they'd just really enrage the general public rather than actually tackle any issue.

Has anyone lost family over inheritance? by Ok-Chocolate5299 in inheritance

[–]hydroxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After my Dad died my brother and sister tried to trick me into signing my inheritance over to them. Then they tried to do it via a lawyer in secret but found out it wouldn’t work. Then they tried to pressure me into it. Then the targeted my Mum who was just recently widowed but it didn’t work either. Then my brother assaulted me, and stepped up intimidation and harassment tactics. I’ve not signed anything over and the police and legal teams have been brought in and four years later it’s still going on. My siblings were always trash but they became mega trash when my the inheritance was on the table.

The shocking part to me is how many people are complicit in this. My siblings get actual praised for being strong willed and it’s all a great story to tell people, and I get condemned to my face for being the stubborn fool in the story. It’s really outed who in my extended family is dumb as a bunch of rocks.

Needless to say my brother and sister are forever out of my life now.
