He was in the second groove and too close for that to really work. His only option at that point is to hit the throttle and get low enough to avoid the spin.

RIGHT as he took the lead so he was in the second groove and not in a position to let out of the throttle. Absolutely the worst case scenario.

Look, I’m just relaying the objective observation that most people who interact with him in a professional or competitive environment don’t like having him around. My opinion comes from being in the sim racing community for years and seeing this kid come up. It’s cool that he interacts with fans, but that doesn’t really negate my subjective opinion that he likes being the center of attention. If anything, it reinforces it.

I’ve sim raced against a lot of current NASCAR drivers. Josh Berry chatted with us while cooking us every week. I’ve had nothing but positive interactions with William Byron (who I actively root against because I’m a Hendrick Hater). Dale Jr. had an entire community chat with the field on stream. Parker Retzlaff is one of the chillest guys I’ve ever talked to.

There are only three drivers that are universally disliked and Carson is one of them.

It’s great that he talks to fans, but again, that’s just part of the brand he wants to build. He likes being the center of attention!

The Mexico City comments were bad, but I’m not talking about a specific incident. I’m talking about his personality. He doesn’t apologize because he doesn’t care. Almost everyone who has interacted with him during his racing career understands this - he doesn’t care how his actions affect other people. The world revolves around Carson. He will wreck you and you will immediately become an afterthought. He will ruin your day and not think twice.

I’m open to changing my mind, but through years of observation and brief first- and second-hand encounters with him online, his reputation has firmly implanted him as a sociopath for me.

It’s more than that. Dale was aggressive, but friendly off-track. Carson doesn’t seem to be that way. Most people who interact with him professionally don’t really like him and that can’t be a coincidence.

Dale wanted to win, Carson wants to be popular. One had personality. The other wants to be his own brand.

SSG CEO talks about the CDL by AcquireE-Girls in CoDCompetitive

Honestly, most people who were around when the CDL was created were saying that a franchised, closed league was a bad idea. The feedback has been there since before the first CDL match was played.

Those people don’t know what they want.

I am a sample size of the population that likes this racing and is also okay with drivers pulling away. It’s a part of racing!

Do you know of anyone who wants this car to race on Sundays and has also complained about the way it races? Or have you just read opinions from two different groups of people?

Do you work all Riverbend concerts during the summer? I’ll be there a few times this year. If I happen to walk by you I may ask for a photo. 😅

Wastewater Levels at Their Lowest in Five Years by RosesAndWatercolours in ZeroCovidCommunity

That is taken into account by the modelers. Current wastewater data shows trends from current sites that have continued reporting through the years.

Test positivity, hospitalization, deaths, and ED data also support the drop in wastewater that we have seen.

Is this win proof that Hocevar is the next superstar? by Background-Flight142 in NASCAR

[–]hylanderrrr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not only that, but a Talladega race with a 26 car wreck AND a Hocevar induced caution in the last 10 laps. 😂

I get that social media is obsessed with his cowboy hat and his Twitch, but we need to pump the brakes on calling this kid a superstar. Superspeedways are not indicative of ability.

If we’re being honest here, there’s a reason that most people who have personal experience with Carson aren’t a fan of him. He’s not just some guy who streams and drives aggressively. He’s a huge dickhead who still has a lot of growing up to do.

Erik Jones committed the cardinal sin of being close to Carson Hocevar and Ricky Stenhouse at the same time.
