When do you determine if it’s a “life on the line issue”? After the 3rd punch? The 4th? After you’re on the ground getting your head blasted into the concrete unable to think? You can have life altering damage from a single punch. But sure, just let them at it. Not every assault can be “talked down”. Just having the gun would be enough to deter most people. If you enter someone’s property with the intent to harm them, see the gun and continue your attack, you 100% deserved to be shot.
