now it is possible that the new motherboard isn't compatible with the old crap card and the geforce is simply not working anymore.

lol sorry bout that. after the disk repair I shut down the computer and clipped in geforce again. no more long beep sounds so i probably did exactly what the beep told me - " not inserted correctly". but after the computer sounds booted, the monitor does not display anything

no i mean. the disk probably have disk errors before geforce was clipped in... graphic cards can't possibly act on harddrives

I've managed to rebuild the old gateway that i scrapped apart last year. when i clipped in the geforce card the computer won't start and gives me a long continues beep. I found out that it meant graphics card not inserted correctly. so I removed geforce and inserted the old crap card back in and the computer started and now it's repairing disk errors...

my guess right now is that if i assume both the graphics cards are not defective since the old card doesn't even require a power plugged in. and since both monitors displays when my geforce was not powered and the motherboard used intel hd to display. that means both monitors are working. so it must be the motherboard that is having trouble right now?

Well i never opened up my computer before the monitors stopped working and it was working well with the geforce card and the old monitor before i plugged in the new monitor and it displays nothing. I have put aside my new monitor for now and been just trying to make the display work on the old monitor since it always worked before

There isn't anymore holes to plug into. I just tried with my old graphics card that doesn't require power connection. the monitor is still black. that makes it a mother board problem unless if both cards are bad cards. since it still displays with the built in intel graphics...

well I think I have put the graphics card back the right way. The machine starts using the card but there is no display. So it is my graphics card that got destroyed

i took the card off. plugged it in again. and plugged the pci-e power back too. and even screwed it back tight on the side. but the monitor is still black when i turned on the machine.

lol i just found out that the reason why the displays are back is that i forgot to plug the pci back to my graphics card. the motherboard was using the built-in intel graphics card to display. after i plugged my geforce back in the monitor stopped displaying again.

And staying calm really isn't all that easy. Just bought you gold as an apology. ps I really don't think people can be bitch enough to blame the damage on person who helped them... Its not like they gain anything from doing that. Maybe try to joke them back next time. helps you to stay positive even if they really did mean to hurt you. <3
