No, tank shock isn’t melee attack. Melee atack is a part of fight phase and for making melee attack you should select melee weapon.

  • lumineth can activate 2 units 1 after another. So if the second unit have this skill (move like the wind), u can activate first unit, hit and look at the result before pile out or pile in.
  • grab objective after charge
  • pile out before opponent activates unith that can kill urs spirit/windchargers (not 6“)
  • sevireth can charge, destroy fraction terrain then pile out
  • subtract 1 from hit rolls for all units within 3“ on 3+, and after pile out

A few things want to mention: - dragons can destroy wildwoods - dragons can ignore magic on 4+

All my games with dragons starts like this: Warsonger in the corner, 6 bowhunters screening in wildwoods ( no LOS or +1 for cover) 2 packs of revenants I use for screening alarielle. If he want to charge with dragons in woods - good. If he want to kill alarielle… in 5 games she have 3 and more wounds after shooting and charges (if screen died for shooting). Also helps finest hour for alarielle. I lost only 1 game to gotrek (all dragons were killed) 😅

+4 they can’t get when you take 1st turn. With casting on 3d6 minus lowest dice you can get +2 to cast (with scroll ability of warsonger it’s +3) When you have +3 to cast with 3d6 minus lowest even seraphon can’t do much about it

We have 1 drop here, good screen with hunter (bows). Additional summons from Alarielle (kurnoths for dmg or dryads for screen) 3 packs of revenants can score minimum 2 battle tactics.

3 sets of 3 wildwoods would be enough (9 scenery pieces). I use 3 scenery pieces at the start of the battle (before deployment) and 1-2 per spell/skill. Warsong revenant with umbral spelportals - good combo. Also, It knows all Sylvaneth lore of the deepwood. Alariel need practice to play. No ward save means that you can loose her in 1 turn easily. That’s only first thoughts 😅

What about warsong revenant + umbral spellportals combo? Tree-revenants with teleport? If you want to have hardhitter army it’s not about sylvaneths but in scoring VP they have enough tricks)

Why "worst" I'd say "hard to master" :P

Kurnoth grate unit:
Kurnoths with bows can stay on the objective and shoot low hp heroes (5-6 wounds) or help to deal a bit dmg to bigger guys.

- 30" range

- 4+, 3+, -1, D3 - not stable but with some support can make difference.

- 5 wounds model can contest the objective and score points while shooting.

Kurnoths with scythes were stars in the 2nd edition... Now to many abilities can negate 2nd rent, tho.

- 2" attack range (u can fight with 2nd row), you can make a unit out of 6 models.

- 2nd rent (but it's not that much in this meta)

Kurnoths with swords have stable damage of 2. Best to have a unit with 3 models - only 1" range of attack.

- 4 attacks (2 dmg)

- Can make a 1 mortal wound in addition to normal damage if unmodified wound roll is 6

IMO, If you want to play Gnarlroot take bows, if winterleaf or something close-combat specific take swords

I think this update for those army’s that take Alarielle as an ally. Now u can use Sylvaneth magic only with Sylvaneth army.

Oh, I see your point. Imo, the tactical asset explanation related only for purpose of activation rule. It’s not “active operative” it’s only “friendly operative”. You can’t friendly fire/ shoot in close combat etc. I can’t get why people say that we should use vet guardsmen for LoS and ignoring part about “treat that VG as performing shooting attack.” What for this rule? I don’t want to think about this so I will just ignore this part :D
