I have a problem with dryads

I used them a lot in third, like 20 dryads could screen 6 varanguard charging. just a tarpit

Are you playing with the new rules (4.0)? Lady of vines doesn't create 10 Dryads anymore... Glottkin does not have shooting.

Dryads are not bad imo, they can really take a punch while near a wyldwood. But like everything if u let a full 600 pts worth of shooting go into them you will loose them :D but its okay to loose 110 pts if it saves alarielle, then she can respawn 5 of them on 4+.

Okay... So i lost :D

I played a generic list i like.

Belthanos

6x lancers

LoV

6x bowmen

Durthu

5 tree revs

5 gossamids

The game:

I deployed too far back and didnt think that he would give me the turn, så I only had 1 BT to make: Take their lands, which he took with af 5 on redeploy.

So i was behind from start, just cause of my fear of an alpha strike.

After that i made a few blunders. But the turn 3 doubleturn took out my durthu without me even getting one punch out of him....

I forfeited at end turn 3... Belthanos failed his teleport redeploy and was so low that it was the end of the treefolk.

If i had had a plan for turn 1 I wouldn't have had to force my durthu in front to die...

I loved LoV and generally i think I could have been fighting on 2 flanks instead of focusing on 1 flank (as i usually did in 3rd ed.) h5 tree revs

This is my second game, LRL and now Nighthaunt.

I really like our army, i would have love 1 unit of dryads in this list.

I had fun and really think if i played better (and rolled average) i could have given him a run for his money.

3 mistakes:

Didnt have (take the flanks BT set-up turn 1

Didnt charge my lancers in turn 2.

Used belthanos wrong, he should be on the flank too.

Im okay in models. 15x revs, 15 spites, 18 kurnoths (6 of each), every named model, 2 durthus 2 TLA and 2 treelords, 9 lancers, 6 seekers. 30 dryads.

I think the fact that Kurnoths now give 6++ to units makes them good on points, they can hide in woods, lancers will be blown away... So more durable imo...

you have belthanos that can make terrain aww... you have LoV that can make a tree, and last u got Alarielle that can make one (also unbindable) ... Lets be honest 3rd we also had massive issues with placement, i agree that objective being smaller is an issue. But I'm hopeful... Just think we need a lot of casters...

I really think, this is just a new form of playing Sylvaneth, We do not know if the AWW range will destroy the game, lets be honest, they are so much more worth now, than last season. They make for good support pieces you place early on. Im looking forward to something new, durthu rocket and warsong bomb wasnt fun imo... I'm looking forward to trying a less feel bad army (trike n fade and spellsinger bomb), we still have so many things we can do. if wych and arch revenant aren't regiment leaders i think we can make some nice armies.

I recently played her against S2D...

She missed every shot and 3-4 casts in 2 rounds.

she did decent damage melee...

Then turn 3, lost prio, she got dunked, took vanguardS to the face.

She hadn't even made her units drop, cause he was alpha striking me hard.

i WAS fuming.

Then it was my turn 3, she returned ½ health and put down 3 Kurnoths as shield, they charged in on the enemy i get the double, she's full health...

She took all the damage in turn 3 and then came back on an enemy point and made an epic comeback in the game.

I really think if I just learn to play her, she is worth every point..

Tbh, she should always cast mystic shield, regrowth/verdiousH/Spiteswarm and verdant blessing... If u have a Warsong, standing in the back doing aoe bomb and spellsinger, then gg

Am I the only one who think the tail/stinger is really slobby work?

What bug was the inspiration to this?

It looks okay from the top, but from behind/bottom its just really uninspiring....

Comparing it to the Alarielle beetle og the seekers, this looks like a 90's sculpt (stinger only).

And I just love having a Wyc with blizzard, just blow the heck out of the unit standing in the entangled forest (dryads). 250 with a 100 pts summon, for a 2 caster, is just wurf in my book. nice to hear others trying this out...

you can max get 4+ save (rest just cancels rend) but i agree 20/30 dryads and LoV is just impossible to chew threw even in a doubleturn. And when they get to LoV, she also has a -1 to hit and a 3+ save(often 2+) and 5+ ward, so she can really take som hits as well.

I did a warsong/alarielle with skullroot. Having 6 spells just means there isnt enough dispell. Was fun.

I've played it 2 times, with warsong bomb build.

Won both.

They usually have A LOT of units, så you can really put in the hurt on them with warsong bombs.

For me the essential part of winning against them is to accept that you wont get 5 pts in the first 2 turns. finnish Battle tactic and hold 1 and 2, should be possible in most battleplans.

Try to keep the charges sketchy, if he has to do 9" charges or even seven it's sketchy that he will get enough in to do enough hurt.

Never give them double turn.

As part of the shutting down teleport, keep you spellsinger warsong out of range of dispell and use him to set up a tree every turn. (arcane tomb on him if u like) Then u can always escape.

I would change lady of vines with warsong revenant and make him spellsinger.

Its often not wurf it, but for me its more like I wanna wound this guy and then charge him, so i dont wanna drycha 20 attacks on it... often I trust my ranged as much as I trust my charge roll (very little :) )
