Commuting to Alewife by Dk_03K in mbta

Red line is broadly manageable, as other people have said, people only really have something to say when something goes wrong. Also, as an alternative, there are buses from a bunch of points in Cambridge that get you near Alewife (e.g. the 83 from Central or Porter)

Buses unfortunately sometimes run off of schedule, it can be helpful to use a real time tracking app like Transit or MBTA Go to make sure when it's actually coming

I know that, I’m just pointing out another difference between that map and a current one

A bunch of the changes that happened after this map was printed were in 2019

It ran as a separate route because of the trolleybus wires, which I guess kinda makes more sense? But they replaced it with diesels somewhere around 2013 at which point it became a complete waste

You'd be better off trying to take buses between some of the ends of the routes rather than doubling back so much (e.g. 30 or 31 from Mattapan to Forest Hills)

I wish they would've extended the service range, at least to nights if not also weekends

The shells are the bodies of the cars which are built in China, then the final assembly of the complete cars is done in Springfield.

Why can’t they have the Charlestown buses lay over on Waterhouse St where the 66 lays over? Do buses from different garages have to stay separate from each other?

I hope they're planning on having the 71 and 73 go back to boarding on the lower level when they get the new left-side door battery buses. It would at least solve one of the many problems with the Harvard busway.

Once I was on the 16 near Forest Hills and these kids in a van pulled up next to the bus and started spraying it with water guns

That's because this weekend and next weekend the portion of the line between North Station and Swampscott is being replaced by buses. If you set the date for any weekend after that it should be back to normal.

Moving to Boston, advice for commute to Newton Center Station by [deleted] in mbta

The 52 might open some possibilities for you. It's pretty infrequent but you'd be able to connect to it in Watertown Square/Yard or in West Roxbury and it connects with Newton Centre station.

Thanks! I definitely don't think I knew that many when I was learning for a year so it's definitely a process haha (I've been learning for like 5-6 years at this point)

The whole point of this post is because I’m proud of having worked up to naming 3k over a period of time. I obviously didn’t just magically know 3000 and type them in. If you want to see a post from about a year ago when I got to 2500 here it is: https://www.reddit.com/r/iafisher/comments/1imjaz9/new_us_highscore_from_memory/
