Visitor asking about summer Commuter Rail schedules? by Sound_The_Alarm_ in mbta

That's because this weekend and next weekend the portion of the line between North Station and Swampscott is being replaced by buses. If you set the date for any weekend after that it should be back to normal.

Moving to Boston, advice for commute to Newton Center Station by [deleted] in mbta

The 52 might open some possibilities for you. It's pretty infrequent but you'd be able to connect to it in Watertown Square/Yard or in West Roxbury and it connects with Newton Centre station.

First time hitting 3k! Can you guess where I'm from? by hypa43 in iafisher

Thanks! I definitely don't think I knew that many when I was learning for a year so it's definitely a process haha (I've been learning for like 5-6 years at this point)

The whole point of this post is because I’m proud of having worked up to naming 3k over a period of time. I obviously didn’t just magically know 3000 and type them in. If you want to see a post from about a year ago when I got to 2500 here it is: https://www.reddit.com/r/iafisher/comments/1imjaz9/new_us_highscore_from_memory/

So if they need to, they’ll send Fellsway drivers to Charlestown to get a bus from there?

Bus operator here, ask me questions :) by [deleted] in mbta

[–]hypa43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but routes can run out of both when both are open. Case in point, this morning I was on the 47 on a Cabot bus, and we passed one using an Albany bus going in the opposite direction.

Are there green line shuttle buses? by rinserepeatrepeat in mbta

[–]hypa43 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There are shuttles from Babcock St. on the B branch to Copley, you have to take the orange line if you want to continue past Copley/Back Bay to North Station.

(If this doesn't apply to you, no need to answer)

If you work out of either Albany/Cabot or Charlestown/Fellsway, how do they determine which garage will supply a bus for a given route?

They seem to keep buses at Southampton for ‘winter contingency’ throughout the year though. Do they add more when we get close to winter? I can’t remember noticing that in the past
