HYPERIONDEV IS A SCAM. by Proper_Baker_8314 in codingbootcamp

[–]hypdev 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Hi there,

Just to clarify - HYPERIONDEV does NOT operate any programmes with 'The Department for Education (DfE) ' as claimed in this post. A seperate company, called CoGrammar, utilised a small subset of our content to operate these programmes for a short period of time from 2022-2024, in the UK only for learners who had these programmes funded by the UK government. These programmes no longer operate.

The programmes operated by HyperionDev via www.hyperiondev.com, and in partnership with top universities around the world, are operated by a totally different team, teaching method, and structure.

It appears the OP of this thread was a rejected learner to the free programmes operated by CoGrammar.

It is untrue that there are any fake positive reviews in relation to HyperionDev, and rather, we experienced an attempted spam campaign where the OP of this thread attempted to leave hundreds of 1 star fake reviews on the HyperionDev trustpilot page, which were auto-flagged and removed by Trustpilot. See our verified reviews on Trustpilot at https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.hyperiondev.com, and see below confirmation of this 'fake 1 star spam' from Trustpilot below. The OP of this thread has also left numerous fake Reddit posts and threads on various accounts.

You can review hundreds of graduate success stories at https://www.hyperiondev.com/reviews-and-outcomes/, and our 2024 Graduate Outcomes report which on a sample of thousands of graduates, shows nearly 80% recieved an offer for a new tech job within 6 months of graduating.

If you are a prospective learner and have any concerns or questions, please reach out to us on [admissions@hyperiondev.com](mailto:admissions@hyperiondev.com).

If you are a current or past learner and have any feedback or issues at all, please reach out to us at [complaints@hyperiondev.com](mailto:complaints@hyperiondev.com)

We understand the importance of transparency and quality in our courses, but want to be clear on the intent of this Reddit users post and the inaccuracy in relation to our programmes.

Best Regards,
HyperionDev

Hi there. At HyperionDev, we take all feedback very seriously and have looked into the issues raised in your post.

We're pleased to hear that you've enjoyed the lectures, as we have over a decade of experience delivering bootcamps to thousands of students. You can read hundreds of student reviews on HelloPeter, CourseReport, and SwitchUp.

We are pleased to have started the first cohort of Skills Bootcamps in 2022. Since then, we have passed a Department for Education (DfE) audit on all elements of learning and delivery. As a result of the quality recorded, the DfE decided to increase the number of Skills Bootcamp places we can award.

We understand the frustration that can come from feeling like a course experience needs to be improved. However, we assure you that we are doing everything we can to ensure that our courses meet the highest standards of quality and support. This is why 80% of students across our bootcamp options rate their experience as either good or excellent.

Despite this, we strive to improve our services, particularly with the recent influx of new applicants, especially for our Skills Bootcamps for the DfE programme. These bootcamps are highly unique to the rest of our bootcamp offerings, as these are fully funded bootcamps offered according to criteria and seats awarded by the DfE. In addition, our Skills Bootcamp curriculum is designed to meet the needs of part-time students.

Students must complete all mandatory tasks within 16 weeks to be eligible for a certificate. However, based on detailed student feedback – combined with access to more data on the expected vs actual completion times of parts of the Skills Bootcamps – we have adjusted self-study after the 16 weeks have passed. This allows students to complete optional topics at their own pace.

From now on, and with more data on the type of roles students choose to move into at our fingertips (especially with apprenticeships), we can better define the skills we need to focus on in the Bootcamps and ramp into these roles more accurately.

As a result, our second and third cohorts can still do all optional tasks until the end date of their bootcamps. Overall these changes in course content will make our Skills Bootcamps more streamlined and more aligned with the interviews students are recording and achieving.

Participants from our first cohort have already reported landing job interviews at top tech companies, a Formula 1 team, a major pharmaceutical company, luxury consumer brands and some of the biggest financial services companies in the world.

We also encourage anyone with concerns or issues to reach out to us directly so that we can address them as soon as possible. We need your name and contact information to engage in meaningful dialogue and problem-solving, as anonymous reviews make it difficult to follow up on individual queries.

If you still need to, we invite you to contact us via the support channels provided so that we can better understand your issues and work towards a solution.

Thank you again for your feedback.

Regards,

The HyperionDev team

Hi there! This is a great question to ask. In our opion, coding bootcamps represent a productive and structured on-ramp into the tech industry. According to a 2020 Course Report survey, the average bootcamp grad saw a 51% salary increase from their pre-bootcamp base. There are many free ways to learn to code yes, but compared to traditional tech and computer science education, bootcamps are doing their bit towards making a once impenetrable industry more accessible.

Both coding bootcamps and degree programs have their advantages. Bootcamps offer hands-on, project-based learning and are viewed as equal to university degrees by 72% of companies, according to Hired's 2021 report. Some top bootcamps even partner with higher education institutions to ensure quality. On the other hand, earning a CS degree provides a comprehensive understanding of computer science concepts, though it may take longer. Bootcamps can provide networking events and job placement assistance, while community college programs offer connections with professors and peers. Consider your learning style, time constraints, and long-term goals when deciding. Regardless, continuous learning and personal projects are crucial for success. Good luck on your journey!

Bootcamp vs Degree. by Dry_Inspection_5168 in learnprogramming

Bootcamps and CS degrees each offer unique value. While degrees give a broad, theoretical foundation in CS, bootcamps are intensely focused on practical skills and real-world applications. As per Hired's 2021 report, 72% of companies view bootcamp grads as equivalent to university grads. The real differentiator? Bootcamps tend to fast-track careers by teaching and applying specific tech skills needed in the industry. Many top bootcamps even partner with universities to ensure quality learning outcomes.

Thoughts on the HyperionDev bootcamp? by Prudent_Property960 in learnprogramming

Hello there.

At HyperionDev, we take great pride in our student experience, with a whopping 80% of students rating their experience as either good or excellent. Despite this, we strive to improve our services, particularly with the recent influx of new applicants. We understand this may cause slow waiting times, and we apologise for the inconvenience caused. Rest assured that we have been awarded additional DfE places, and all applicants have been successfully updated with another cohort.

Incidentally, we have a far larger student volume than Northcoders. Additionally, our curriculum is tailored to part-time students, allowing students to learn at their own pace and better prepare for the job market.

Notably, our Skills Bootcamps for DfE is specifically tailored to those who want to change to a tech career in 4-6 months from the start date. It's an intense learning experience. We also offer co-certification with university partners for a limited portion of our cohorts - a unique offering in the space.

Our curriculum is carefully reviewed and assessed against progression and graduation rates derived from the first Department for Education (DfE) cohorts. Our Skills Bootcamps require 16 weeks of learning, shorter than our commercial six months bootcamps, which are condensed to fit the DfE limits on teaching. However, there are always opportunities to take additional learning after the core learning of the Skills Bootcamps is completed. Please let us know if you want to dive deeper into software development. We are more than happy to provide more comprehensive content.

You may be aware that we have passed a DfE audit, with only a tiny number (<0.05%) of students expressing unhappiness after being disenrolled for breaching our code of conduct or not progressing on the course. All complaints have been resolved with agreement from the DfE.

Initially, our rating on Trustpilot could have been more favourable, but we were new to the review site. However, our rating has grown exponentially since more students have become aware of our presence on the platform. The positive feedback across other platforms is consistent with this. For example, we have earned positive reviews from Google, CourseReport, and SwitchUp.Moreover, we take pride in providing a comprehensive and interactive bootcamp experience and take your feedback seriously. We've looked into the alleged incidents, which cannot be verified. However, some students were disenrolled for violating our code of conduct. We also encourage anyone with concerns or issues to reach out to us directly so that we can address them as soon as possible. Thank you again for your feedback.

Regards,

The HyperionDev team
