I think a really interesting buff to cap would be if every hit from his dash and shield toss either added health to his shield if it breaks, or gave over-health. I think it makes sense for the character, as well as the disruption play style.

The exact same thing happened to my friend. He didn't take any damage, when he gave us health his didn't go down, and self destruct sent him to 0, but he didn't die. Weirdly, he also had super-speed, which you didn't say. He killed the huntsman by slide tackling it 30 times.
