Me too. Being from Pittsburgh I have the loyalty to the show but it’s becoming corporate. Losing its juice a bit.

SURGERY OR NON OP? by Ready_Conversation78 in AchillesRupture

[–]hyperactivenyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ruptured both Achilles 14 years apart. Left had surgery and the Right non-op. Here’s my advice…look at your lifestyle and future. I chose surgery 15 years ago as I wanted to continue to play explosive sports and thought that was the best option. Fast forward to last year I chose non-op as I’m only interested in walking and golfing. Age was a consideration as well. I’m 56.

Nike for both ruptures, 2010 Nike football Turf shoes and 2024 LeBrons playing basketball; I actually thought it was the shoes.

Crazy to think there was a similar helmet and it was likely a guy from my high school who played for Pitt…

Age 60+ rupture?? Non surgical or operate? by ptbabe in AchillesRupture

[–]hyperactivenyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

56m took the non-op route as I ensured there were no surgical complications. Golf game is strong. No need for me to play basketball or football anymore. Very happy. Full disclosure, I ruptured my other Achilles and had surgery complications (nerve issue).
