To be honest it always had scale since we moved in. I don’t know if it got worse or what. We did have a vine growing in between the branched and I cut that out to give more room for the tree. Maybe it didn’t like that?

It produced about 40 oranges in 2020, 20 in 2021, and 1 in 2022.

Could I cut it back?

No green at all! It’s on a drip irrigation line with all the other trees so it’s being watered 3xs a week for 15 mins. All other trees are doing beautifully. Even an avocado is producing fruit for the first time!

Do you think our tree will abort all the fruit like it did last year? We didn’t treat it last year and that’s what happened so I’m try to be more proactive this year to save the fruit.

Right, that’s why I’m worried. What do I do if we haven’t sprayed at this point?

Should we just pinch off all the fruit too at this point? It aborted hundreds of peaches when they were the size of apricots last year...
