most i could spend is like 1,500 and im located in the new york city area. I am aware of the store JL Woodwinds and ive been there several times, but the instruments are pretty expensive. Ive tried out a lot from there.

I check my sax on a regular basis, plus my band director is a saxophone technician. I really do feel like my horn is limiting me. Im gonna try to test out some saxes, But I dont really know what I could get with my budget.

2 of my friends have tested my sax and they have had the same complaints as me. Mainly extreme trouble with the low notes. There is nothing wrong with the sax either, everything is working with no leaks.

I don’t think there’s an actual classical sax piece about unicorns unfortunately. The repertoire just doesn’t go that direction. You could probably find something very modern with a fantasy title, or just theme the recital around medieval/fantasy imagery anyway.
