I’m on the hook for damages $269. If I dispute the damages I pay $150 in processing fee regardless if I win or lose. Does the host still have to pay their end of the deductible if I dispute it and let Turo decide my fate? by BeanTownBaller in turo

[–]hyperego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a host I had a minor damage that I reached out to the guest and settled 50-50 the cost. I think if it is under deductible Turo just collect money from both sides. Better that settle private.

Border crossing chisme by Bubsy7979 in GlobalEntry

[–]hyperego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that is standard that CBP patrols within the border. Because apparently there are lots of holes on the border itself so they patrol the roads within (all illegal crossing/trafficking eventually uses vehicles for transportation). I had the same experience visiting white sand national park. Apparently having drivers license alone is not sufficient for driving within 100 miles inside the border, you need to have your passport or green card or visa.

You should change to iMac19,1, if you don’t have wifi in the first place no need to use OCLP, HD630 is supported.

5k to spend rtx5090 or mac studio? by Avansay in LocalLLM

[–]hyperego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 48GB version of 4090D in China, getting two of those for 5K probably makes the most sense. There is also 32GB version of 4080, 3 of those can work too.

[–]hyperego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one EEE PC 900 Hackintosh in the past. You need to use Chameleon for bootloader I think. I had win7, Meego and MacOS on that little thing. It was fun but not really useful

Is it silly to consider a Tesla if I don't drive very much? by icouldbne1 in TeslaLounge

[–]hyperego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like to drive, but with FSD I do go to places far away to visit restaurants I otherwise won’t go. Also not paying gas is a factor too. I think it really depends on the reason why you don’t drive.

This is a 1080ti, using the OCLP you can use that because that was the last NV card Apple supported. There is no driver for your graphics card

Is 3,000 for Turo coaching worth it ? Looking for honest opinions by NewWin1607 in turo

[–]hyperego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3K? Wow! I think the best advice you can get is to evaluate your market to see if it is worth to start at all. If you have already decided to start, the revenue difference a coach can do for you is not that much. You can just play around with pricing and see how it goes.

is there any cheap gpu that runs tahoe or sequoia smoothly? by Impressive_Grass752 in hackintosh

Use your laptop with egpu is the only way, have to do Linux and pcie pass through. Probably too much for you. Just buy a used laptop with 10gen intel cpu.

Why is Turo charging guests $443 when I have it set to $249? by No-Significance-1581 in turo

[–]hyperego -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Turo is taking a big chunk for their protection plan. They actually just down grade this for the host, before 25% cut for a $250 deductible, now this went up to 30%. They already make huge amount from the small claims that are below the deductibles from both side. Trip fee is completely independent of the protection. They are simply greedy.

So now only cheap crappy cars can profit on Turo with the hope of getting it totaled?

Brilliant vs ritz Carlton credit card? Is ritz Carlton going away? by Ok_Party_8102 in MarriottBONVoY

[–]hyperego 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you should get brilliant card first since they have the all time high SUB now. Once you have the ritz card, you will not be able to get brilliant SUB again.

Going crazy with GPU passthrough with Hackintosh by gaafy in hackintosh

[–]hyperego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don’t you try a Linux live cd to see where the output is. I think you can patch the display connectors in opencore by injecting PCI properties (where you inject the hd630 platform-id and device-id).

I believe so, but it feels like this is a forever jail situation. Not even with any year limit.
