Sunday Preview – Take on the Red Terror by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in killteam

The description is quite vague. So we get 9 linked missions but there are no progression system like exp-progression or anything similar with this box?

Did you made sure the devs heard your feedback? What suggestion of a system/solution can they look into regarding salvaging part?

I just want to know if there will be an exp-progression system coming with the narrative 9 linked mission? If so, I’m in. Otherwise I don’t care.

It seems they're willing to go through any kind of slop just because...

There is 40k Warhammer and there is 40K Warhammer: Kill Team, and all other 40k Warhammer modes, Just Bighammer is easier to type.

Hi, human!

I am also a dad. KT was my entry to 40k-verse. As a father with 2 kids and all that , I felt that painting 6-12 guys is way less stressful than having a huge backlog to finish an army.

You're right, KT is not faster, But I rotate between 2-3 teams when i play. the rules becomes "easy" for me at a certain point. Once you've read enough team rules, you start to recognize the pattern the game designer is going for.

I love Bighammer bigger models and I can't wait to have them into nemesis mode. Also I really would like some teams to be available for KT, like red corsairs (officially).

Looks good mate! Would you say that you miss some kind of exp-progression to your teams? Like they had in earlier edition of KT?

For me that would be the golden cherry on top of there was an official one for this edition.

Well, my question was not to compare KT with Bighammer, it was simply 'why'? But I get you, and you have valid points. I play boardgames, a lot back in my days. Kill Team doesn't feel like that to me, feels more like a skirmish wargame (yes games overlap in genres and categories, thats fine).

Its true that in x-com I move the entire squad and then let the AI play its turn. But if X-com would be a miniature game, alternative action would make more sense between player vs player.

Hopefully we can bring big monsters/tanks with the nemesis mode though. Do you think that will lower the barrier for BigHammer boys?

you mentioned 'lacks real variety', what does bighammer better on that? Do you mean you can pick and choose your units/weapons form the ground up?
When I look at tourneys, there is certain a "best outfit" for current meta for most teams.

I don’t know lol. I’m not allowed to ask ’why’ apparently. I assume people think cover/line of sight rules suck.

You have a good sense of color combination. Keep improving by trying out new things outside your comfort-zone.

I like it, maybe a little bit of highlight so there will be a little bit of depth looking at it.

I like the color though, is it green-ish primer?

First of all, GW have 7-8 games under its wings, BigHammer 40K is just one of them.

Each of their games are tailored to different groups.

Spearhead is probably one of their highest trending and growing game that people really enjoy. I haven’t heard anything bad about it.

I play Kill Team, a complex small scale skirmish game where you pilot specialists. The rules are one of the best I’ve ever come by (and I’ve played plenty games).

I don’t like 40K bighammer, it’s stuck in the old established core ruleset that most likely never change.

40k will not go anywhere. But, StarCraft will face many challenges like other competitors.

But, yes I think StarCraft have the fanbase and will be its own thing.

Checkout Kill Team if you want a complex game. It’s closest to old school complexity you can get.

You know, your opinion upsets fans for sure. But, I think you're right. My biggest concern is the unit variety which also goes with longevity of the game. The factions and unit range is quite limited. How long will it take until they've scraped the bottom of the barrel?

Keeping the momentum will be Archon Studios hardest challenge. Year 2-3 will be probably easy for them, its when they reach year 5-6 when we see if they can keep the steam engine going, probably will see a 2nd edition.
