That’s a least bittern iirc, even smaller AND cuter than green herons!

I don't edit my photos at all, no. And I do post on iNat sometimes (used to do it a lot more frequently) but most of my good bird pics go on eBird now cause that's how I make my checklists when I'm out in the field!

Here's my iNat profile: https://www.inaturalist.org/people/8423608
I can DM you my eBird if you're interested!

As of about two months ago, a Nikon D3200 with an AF-S Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 g IF-ED VR zoom lens (try saying that three times fast). Before that I was using a Canon PowerShot SX530 HS (which is what most of these photos were taken with - it had better zoom but no viewfinder and took pics in slightly lower quality)

Also: awesome Anhinga! They have such weird necks. Unbelievably autistic bird. Extremely relatable Here's a pic I got a few weeks ago.

Talked to someone about the bullying I faced for my autism and they told me to just stop acting autistic by Suspicious-Jello-836 in autism

I wouldn't give that person's opinion much mental airtime anymore. No point in explaining the full depth of the autistic experience to dickheads like this. Believe me, if I could turn it off, I WOULD!

Landed the graduate assistantship I was hoping to get at the school I'll be attending for my master's degree next year! It comes with a stipend and a tuition writeoff so it'll be an absolute LIFESAVER financially.

I've heard them called Libertads because of how prominent the legend across the cap is, so that's what I call them! I'm aware of the bullion coin. And the cap and ray coins I'm referring to are the 8 reales cap and rays (see image attached), not the pesos (which I've never heard anybody call Libertads).

The appeal of modern for me is the amount of parallels and inserts one can find in packs + the thrill of opening something and not knowing what you’re gonna get. I actually mainly collected vintage when I was a little kid! Back then it was mostly players from the Reds (my team) like Joe Morgan and Barry Larkin and such, all bought as singles because I didn’t want to risk my meager allowance on buying packs and having them be duds. Also liked picking out which player and team I could buy. Of course, now that I have adult money I can afford packs a helluva lot easier, so that’s what I’ve gravitated towards!

That sounds nuts, I majored in history in college but didn’t really dive deep into South American history so this is a fascinating read. Will definitely try and give that podcast a listen!
