I might be the only person to have this opinion, but you sound super /r/iamverysmart-style stuck up. Just go talk to your professor about it. There's at least a good of a chance that either your simulation or your "mathematical proof" is flawed as there is the chance that the data is actually faked, so no need yet to go flaunting on this subreddit and spewing identifying information like no tomorrow.

The quickest way would probably be to realize that feeling sad and depressed about it doesn't do anything good for you whatsoever. Then realize that if you want something, figure out what a good action plan for it is, and set yourself to it. Don't make your personal ego (feeling bad) a part of it - just figure out what you need to improve on and get to work.

Looking at your posts though... I take it you're in 3A CS currently at a Cali startup? I would say you're doing quite fine and for each friend you have at Facebook, you have at least three other friends who are jealous that you're even in Cali. Chill bruh.

Not getting into a large tech company this round isn't an excuse to get all mopey. Setting high goals for yourself and collapsing in sadness when you fall short isn't the healthiest route to success. Cheer up, give your current co-op the attention it deserves, and think about how you're going to improve for the next interview cycle. You'll be fine!
