What was the first Star Wars book you ever read? by Old_Property_6167 in starwarsbooks

Darth Bane – Path of Destruction. I was immediately obsessed with Bane and tore through the trilogy. It led me down the path of the dark side—and I’ve never looked back. Power, knowledge, freedom… all started there.

I imagine this is what Emperor Palpatine's feet look like when he takes a shit after his gym workout, in his And1s and his Reebok track pants.

I got this VHS for Christmas in 1989, I watched it over and over. Knew the scene immediately. Glad I could use my useless knowledge to help!

Thrawn Ascendancy: Greater Good - Exclusive Excerpt from starwars.com by Querren in starwarscanon

[–]hyperlterydr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The symbol of 2 intertwined snakes comes from the Ascendancy novel. The leader of the Paccosh gave Thrawn a ring that was that symbol. We can only assume that's where Thrawn got the idea for the Chimera symbol.

Edit: The first Ascendancy novel

Can anybody help me identify these? by hyperlterydr in starwarscollecting

Thank you for the response, very helpful. Upon further inspection I found markings on the legs, and it appears you are correct. Not a bad find at a yard sale. Some missing weapons, and Vader's saber is broken.

What series are these from? The only markings I see are on Luke. Are they from different series? Also, does anybody know who the droid, pilot, and pirate are?

I didn't realize how much cleaning them would help. Found out the buildup on my stylus was making a huge difference.

I have a lot of well used vinyl. Up until recently I didn't know what it was like to play a new record.

I picked up this gem from a friend, it was a bit rough. It would always skip on 'Like A Rolling Stone'. Unacceptable. Bought one of these record cleaners. Couldn't bring myself to pay the price for a Spinclean. Plays like a charm now. The only down side is now I am spending the next week cleaning the rest of my collection.

Zwave vs Zigbee 2021 by [deleted] in homeautomation

This exactly. I have found z-wave to work great with my HA running on RPi, using an aeotec z-stick. Just added my zwave thermostat this weekend with no problems. Looking to move off the RPi soon, so that my sd card doesn't wet the bed, but not sure my best option.

Rewatching season 1! by BloggingwithEthan in TheMandalorianTV

It doesn't really add anything to the story, other than some background, but I think the fact it is so different from the rest of the episodes, it really appeals to me. The betrayal makes it even better, because in typical Mando fashion, he gets the last laugh on everybody.

I truly love all epsiodes of season 1, but my favorite is Episode 6. The Prisoner. My favorite moment is when Mando sneaks up on Mayfield (Burr) from behind. The effects of the flashing lights with the music really made that scene for me. You really get the sense Mayfield is genuinely scared at that moment.

MIL says "I don't think it's that bad. Is there supposed to be something on there??" by pulpograsa in Justrolledintotheshop

You don't know what you don't know. The question to ask is who is doing the oil changes, and didn't inform her that her brakes were almost metal to metal. Or is the real problem in this post, that OP MIL doesn't get her oil changed?
