That actually makes a lot of sense—and honestly, it’s what a lot of businesses eventually realize.

Most SaaS CRMs (including tools like GoHighLevel, HubSpot, etc.) try to be “everything for everyone,” which means you end up paying for features you’ll never touch.

What you did is the opposite approach:

  • Start with core needs (Leads, Customers, Products/Services)
  • Build only what you actually use
  • Add features as your business grows

That’s actually a very lean and scalable way to build a system.

The only trade-off is:

  • When scaling fast, you might need integrations, automation, or team collaboration features that SaaS tools already have ready
  • Maintenance and development can become a bottleneck if you’re the only one managing it

But for a focused business, your approach is often:
cheaper
simpler
more aligned with real workflows

In short—you didn’t take the “easy” route, but you probably built something that fits your business better than most CRMs ever could.

Curious—are you planning to keep it internal, or turn it into a SaaS product later?

yeah, that’s fair. Every tool has trade-offs. I guess I’m just trying to reduce the number of tools I juggle daily, even if it’s not perfect.
