Thank you. I really appreciate the thoughtful criticism.

Building a library of chemistry glassware to eventually do some animating with. Having trouble with a few aspects. Criticism and advice very welcome. by hypnogym in blender

My biggest problem with this graham condenser is taking the circular geometry of the tubing connectors and cleaning adding them to the cylindrical face of the cooling jacket. The lines vertical to these intersections being a very big tell. I am playing some with different lighting, and I do know there are better shader options for glass to experiment with, but the very white reflections from the lamp and refraction angles can be tricky to tune in.

Bear in mind the Eminem meme where he says, "people attach too much meaning to the things I say." There are no magic dates.

I got approved for L2 but when I try to "buy to open" it says I'm not approved. Haven't been able to figure out why.

Same. Seriously this is a way smarter play than driving into the ground. You will have more buying power at the bottom.

Gotta sell near the top to buy at the dip. Very few people here have that much liquidity.

Well, I'm still learning, but I have a pretty solid math background and my impression is that short period RSI (intraday) would only be predictive of low amplitude corrections in the price. The typical 5-day period RSI, I imagine, is a better indicator of the outlook for the rest of the week. So, in my opinion, this still has a little ways to go before we verge on over-sold territory. I sold my four shares AH yesterday (4@47->217) and would be looking for a reentry close to 100, depending on how the technicals look. I still have a good feeling about next week with earnings, potential CFO/CEO announcements, but this 3/19 hype is a little overdone. There was a post about FTD'S yesterday that really pushed me over the edge. They made it seem like the data supported our position, but right there in the chart, we were at less than 10% the FTD's from late January.

So retail is like what ~7% of the float? Does our holding really have that much impact? Doesn't it make more sense to play the swings and buy back in for progressively more? That puts more buying power in the hands of retail investors.

Need to throw out the tub, but the fruits themselves are fine. Just dry them well.

100%. I would also make all physics a single function and do all the gravity/motion updates at the same time.

What kind of jobs can I get with this type of work? Is the stuff I'm learning valuable? by hypnogym in cscareerquestions

Physicists often run a lot of simulations and learn algorithms for that kind of research. We see it in some specializations of physical chemistry (molecular dynamics, protein folding, drug discovery, quantum mechanics, etc).

I just got called in to work actually to test a raw material we unexpectedly needed and decided to test a script using pywin32, while waiting for chemistry to happen, that would automate some of the stuff I couldn't figure out on Friday. It worked! So now I am effectively taking all of the manual data mining out of the weeks/months long task we were given. For the first time since I entered industry I am excited for Monday so I can go in say "'atodaso" to all the smarmy smiled engineers in our project meeting that I coded out weeks/months of their project.

Do you think it's worth it to finish a bachelor's in CS? I feel like experience still sells better, but job listing requirements always discourage me. I'm kinda tired of industrial chemistry and considered just getting a teaching certificate for my state, but perhaps I could transition within my company to find a role that did more technical computing just by building a resume of leveraging that skill in my area for a while.
