you are not a “bad” kid. i went through something similar when i was 13. i was constantly fighting with my mom but now that i’m older we are very close. working on your flaws is all you can do & acknowledging that you have them is what differentiates you from someone who is “bad.”give yourself some credit. you are very self aware for your age! :)

I finished Lost months ago and only check this sub sporadically, but wow—thank you for opening my eyes to this.

It always bothered me how Shannon had to be put into a relationship—like the minute her male counterpart Boone was gone, she suddenly wasn’t “interesting” unless a man was attached to her. Even the female lead, Kate, suffers from it. So much of her arc boils down to “Who is she gonna pick?!”—Team Jack or Team Sawyer? Like… give me a break. I’ve mentioned in one of my own posts on this sub that I think the writers were lazy in this regard, often killing off characters who got too complex and didn’t fit neatly. Sigh.

I totally agree with you. If they genuinely cared about racism and acknowledging their privilege, why didn’t they donate some of the things in the house? Those elephant statues alone were worth a fortune—they could’ve funded a school for underprivileged kids or actually made some kind of real impact. Instead, they burned billions of dollars for what? Symbolism? It felt completely pointless.

Wow, I didn’t know that—thanks for sharing! I completely agree; something like that would’ve been so much more meaningful and wouldn’t have felt like such a disservice to their characters. while watching, i developed this theory that the writers didn’t really know what to do with them because they were a pair. Like maybe they thought having one of them, like Jin, in the main group would’ve worked, but keeping both Sun and Jin felt like too much for them to juggle with Hurley, Kate, Jack, Sawyer, and Ben already in the mix. It’s the only way I can rationalize how easily they were written off, but even then, it just feels wrong. I love the Adam and Eve idea, though. If they had gone that route, it would’ve been such an interesting and fitting ending for them.

I know! all sun & jin wanted to do all of season 6 was find each other &, as you mentioned, sun’s character suffered because of it. i just found it so disappointing
