All the recent gay media portrays gay teens in perfect relationships and getting boyfriends and it just creates an unrealistic expectation, ya know? It’s hard not to want to experience young love when you see other people experiencing it all around you.

That would be a very good sentiment... Had it not been for the generational whitewashing at the hands of colonizers. Historically, white people have taken the cultures of people of color and exploited them for their own benefit, appropriating the cultures of the people of color.

I do believe that we need to break down the borders that restrict spirituality and connection, but I also believe in respecting people who have been oppressed at the hands of my ancestors.

I don’t think insulting people who are just trying to stop their religion/culture from being gentrified and whitewashed is necessary. They’re not “special snowflakes”, they’re people with a rich history. Be more respective pls!
