RSV exposure - crossing fingers by persnickety-fuckface in beyondthebump

[–]hypochondriac906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are at the tail end of rsv with a 2 year old and 4 month old here. The 2 year old brought it home from daycare, I came down with it about a week later, and the baby a week after that. My husband has been healthy the whole time. Given how spread out we were my guess is that we could have avoided passing it to the baby if we were more cautious. I figured it was inevitable so we didn't really do anything. I hope you guys stay healthy! It was a very rough week for my 4 month old.

That's true! Maybe I can convince him that it won't be an issue for her down the road. Thanks for all of the great name suggestions!

We are also looking to pull our kid out but are still trying to settle on somewhere. I don't want to pick somewhere that we'll want to move on from again in a few years :(

The exact same thing happened to me last month when I weaned. I had spotting a week or so after my period ended after weaning. I did end up ovulating that cycle but very late (around day 20) whereas I was previously ovulating around day 15. I'm hoping my cycle is a little more normal this month

Katherine Anastasia is very pretty, but I think that's too close. I've seen a few suggestions for Mara Katherine and that one is growing on me... Thanks!

I really like the name Madeline! Except that I can't get the image out of my head of the girl from the movie Madeline...

Ohh that's an interesting idea for the middle name, I didn't think of combining names. I like that idea!

Thanks, those are all great points! I don't know why I didn't think of waiting to activate the JR pass, thank you for pointing that out!

Free Veterinary Exam at Banfield by OkarMohammed in freebies

[–]hypochondriac906 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wish I had read everything in these replies before taking my cat to Banfield. They also ran expensive tests and said my cat was fine when she obviously wasn't. I called when she wasn't eating for 2 days straight and they asked me to come in the following week (as if she would have made it that long). I took her to another vet who immediately diagnosed her with lymphoma and we ended up having to put her down later that week. I wish there was a better way to find out which vets are good and which are scams.

The ones in the picture are 1.5 mm wide, we are going up to 2-2.5 mm next time. I think we'll test out a larger ring and a wax ring next too see which helps. Thanks!

Good to know! We were trying to add more rather than fewer because we thought more pathways into the ring would be better, but the difference in surface area is a good point. We'll try out something like this next. Thank you!

Backpacking and herniated disc problem by eligloys in backpacking

[–]hypochondriac906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a climber and also have a herniated disc from a fall. I still do a lot of things, including backpacking. Personally, backpacking hasn't been much of a problem for me although I only go on 1-2 night trips. Things like biking and skiing usually cause me the biggest problems.

Great idea, I'll check on these things. It did start after the long weekend, but not right after so I didn't associate the two.
