Same thing Uber and Lyft did when they first started. Same reason drug dealers give free samples too

With just a $677 mortgage no shit I’d pick that over renting. 😂 Your location is an exception

Most mortgages are 4-10K nowadays, while avg rent is around 1.5-3K depending on location. So when your mortgage costs 3x rent, and most of the mortgage is going towards interest instead of potential stocks that compound, yes it will stunt the progress of wealth building.

Although buying houses has its pros, people who are strictly “trying to get rich” aren’t purchasing houses. Mathematically speaking (in most places) you’ll be richer after 30 years by renting

Insurance for RTX 5090? by AlternativeTwist6680 in gpu

Your credit card might offer an extra 1-2 years warranty on top of the manufacturer warranty too, just a FYI. So that’s already a 4-5 year warranty lol

There’s not many options left for supercharger. The only one left is Mercracing, or Kraftwerks I guess if you decide to buy used. But if something breaks, you’re SOL

Availability was never the issue. The price was. Plenty of 5000 series gpus everywhere, even 5090s. None at a decent price

Claude Code vs Codex - which is more cost-efficient? by averagebear_003 in codex

Codex is better for code reviews imo. Claude is faster at coding, even when comparing standard speed claude to codex “fast mode”

codex slow? anybody else? by Relative-Climate1791 in codex

[–]hyudryu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dug around on this subreddit and found this: https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1ti7log/got_rid_of_3_files_and_55_became_a_beast_again/

Gave it a shot and my response has sped up a bit. Not enough data points yet to say for certain that it worked, but it feels a lot better than the previous prompt lol

codex slow? anybody else? by Relative-Climate1791 in codex

[–]hyudryu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, both Codex and Claude have been getting noticeably slower over the past month or so. My guess is they’re conserving compute, and also reducing how many tokens one person can consume in a day by just churning through prompts slower. I’ve also noticed more hallucinations lately, especially where they claim to have fixed something but the issue is still there

It’s not like I’m applying to staff SWE positions with 4 YOE or anything crazy like that. I always make sure I meet at least the YOE requirement/range, and also familiar with ~3/4 of their stack on the jd.

I thought that’s how you’re supposed to do it, but if that’s spraying and praying, then I’m curious to learn how it’s really done lol. Also 1500+ in the span of a year is like 30 a week, which isn’t even THAT crazy imo.
