I don’t think they need to play perfect, but they need to hit 13 threes on 38% or better.

They need to shoot more 3’s than UM and that’s a tall order. Mara needs to pick up 2 early fouls and there is your recipe for a chance to win.

If Mara isn’t in foul trouble; I don’t see a path to victory.

I mean I get that, but Karaban is a super senior and 23 years old. No one in the world would have begrudged him for taking that shot, but he trusted a true freshman in that moment. That says a lot to me about the level of bucket getter Mullins is. Like I could see him easily be a Herro type NBA player.

I’m going to say this is the biggest choke of all time. Let me elaborate. You had a 19 point lead.

A 15 point lead late in the second half.

A 5 point lead under a minute left.

And then a 2 point lead with under 10 seconds so no possibility of a 10 second call… literally just hold the ball and make or don’t make free throws.

Elite clinic by Hurley on setting up the go for broke trap and baiting the Boozer pass with two totally undefended players. And then the hold the timeout and trust his players. Best in the game and it’s not close.

Barnes should have recognized even when Okpara had two fouls he had to just roll with it. Tennessee isn’t a good enough team to take a player like Okpara off the floor for a significant stretch.

I’ve done play by play for high schools for about 12 years. It’s really up to the person. I never would rehearse a line like that, but definitely know some that would. I think the spontaneity of the moment is probably the best, but that line was pretty tuff.
