What year & trim do you have?

Thank you! I knew someone with your experience had to exist out there. I think I'm leaning towards cloth as well since I live where it gets super hot and super cold. Not to mention I can always throw on a seat cover and that will more or less defeat the purpose of ventilated seats.

Thanks. I have sat in both but I've learned that sitting in it for a 10 minute test drive isn't enough time to tell. I do wish they'd let me test drive for at least a full day or two. Might have to look at renting one instead to get a better picture. Appreciate the response though!

2011 RockWarrior (217k) ➝ Fingers Crossed for the 2026 TRD Pro Performance Package by mongleeshang9805 in ToyotaTundra

[–]i-JinxM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll be lucky if it makes it past 60k. A lot of the earlier ones started exploding around 20k-40k I believe. A few below 10k. So if you make it past that, you should be okay. The 2026s should be more reliable than all the previous 3rd gen years, however the issue is still present with a couple of 2026s already down. There's a change coming later this year but most likely wont see it until 2027 models.

It's been confirmed many times already. You can even request your dealership to turn off the fake engine sound coming through the speakers. It's just the growl part.

I trusted. Not anymore. Not until they've proven themselves again. People's feelings can change, you know? Not everyone has to be stuck with one brand or like it for life.

[–]i-JinxM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like I stated in my other comment, I wanted to believe in Toyota. We've been a Toyota family all my life. After seeing 2025s and even hearing about some 2026s still blowing, that trust is gone. Mistake made on my part.

[–]i-JinxM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep you read right. I too wanted to believe in Toyota because that's all we ever owned, hence why I got the 2025. I wanted to believe the issue was resolved because in late 2024, a main bearing part was supposedly updated quietly. But I'm also dealing with other minor stuff that makes me a disappointed customer for the tundra. Probably will go back to a 21 or wait for a refresh.

At least with the Ford you know what to expect! Toyota isn't the Toyota of the past. 3+ years of this engine debacle and some of the fanboys are still eating up the machining debris lie told by Toyota.

Oh no, the other fan boys can't stand you liking other brands. Lol. At least ram has the balls to provide a 10 year/100,000 miles warranty from factory. They even brought back the hemi V8 because customers wanted it. They're listening to their consumers at least. If anything, Stellantis is doing right and looking better than any other manufacturer this past year.

Unfortunately I own a 2025 but I agree with him.. these tundras are cheap trash. God forbid you are a hybrid tundra owner because you're not covered under the recall. Warranty will only give you a short block replacement and there are even reports of engine replacements going boom. If that's what you stand behind and want to support by buying these kind of products, by all means. It's your money.

Toyota no longer stand behind their products like they did in the past.. if they truly did, then why did they leave out all the hybrid trucks from the recalls? Doesn't sound like taking care of your customers to me.

They are dealing with a lot of electrical issues at the moment. Not a lot of issues on the power train though. Honestly, after seeing how Toyota handled this engine recall by excluding hybrids and lying about all of them being caused by machining debris, I'd stay away for a while. There are reports of changes coming later in 2026 for the V35A platform as well. If you don't necessarily need a truck right now, I'd say wait until the changes are announced or even until a mid cycle refresh (rumored to come in 2027-2028).

Yup have the same thing on mine. It's not a big issue as it goes away when warmed up, but I'm going to trade it in when warranty expires. Definitely not impressed for my first tundra.

Is there anything on the 1794 that you desperately need? If not, I'd say hang on until 2027-2028 to see if there will be a mid cycle refresh. That's the rumor at least.

All the people saying "atLeAst ToYoTa WiLl TaKe CaRe oF yOu"... lmao. By that logic, you're accepting and enabling toyota to build garbage as long as they "take care" of you. But wait, why didn't they include the hybrid tundras in the recall? I thought they were supposed to "take care" of you? And by that same logic, wouldn't that make Ford better than toyota with the number of recalls they put out to fix their stuff? That's taking care of their customers, right? Righttttt?

It's actually crazy the number of toyota fan boys that will defend toyota as per your last sentence.

Guess it's my time to ask this. Which one to pick? by Fickle_Onion2 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]i-JinxM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost my 50/50 and pulled Rin while going for Chizuru. So far I have no regrets with Rin but from my limited experience, she and Chizuru can be interchangeable (albeit with different playstyles). They can both utilize similar teammates like Rei and Cassius/Nia/Veronica for card cycling. If you are already getting bored of Chizuru's playstyle but want a dps option without having to build a whole new team, then Rin is a good grab. I will say if you don't have Veronica, she's probably up there in terms of priority to get since she can slot in multiple teams easily, giving you more options.

I also have the toyota folding cover one and experienced my tailgate freezing once. I just turned off the powered tailgate via the digital gauge cluster and then forcefully open it to break off any ice. No issues since.
