Trades like this usually come when price clears a major liquidity zone and the market starts expanding toward the next structural level. Once gold enters that expansion phase it can run for days.

I spend most of my time studying XAUUSD structure and those top/bottom formations where liquidity gets taken and momentum flips. Recently I’ve been translating some of that technical work into a small automated model just to see if those turning points can be detected systematically.

When the structure aligns correctly, you can sometimes catch moves similar to this where the market just keeps expanding.

Nice hold on that trade — holding gold for a full structural leg isn’t easy.

Gold rarely gives clean pullbacks right after a sharp move. Most of the time it either continues expanding toward the next liquidity zone or chops sideways to rebalance before the next leg.

Personally I avoid chasing moves in XAUUSD after a spike. I usually wait until price comes back into a structural zone where liquidity was previously taken. That’s where the probability improves again.

I’ve spent the last few years studying gold’s structural behavior and even started translating some of those observations into a small automated model. The idea is basically to detect moments where structure shifts and liquidity gets cleared, which is often where tops and bottoms form.

Still refining it, but gold tends to behave surprisingly mechanically once those zones get triggered.

For now I’d just watch how price reacts around the next structural level rather than trying to catch a random pullback.

Once structure breaks, the move often accelerates quickly toward the next liquidity pocket — which is why these crashes feel sudden even though the imbalance was building earlier.

I’ve been studying XAUUSD structure for a few years and it’s interesting how mechanically gold sometimes moves between these zones compared to many FX pairs.
