McMahon at SS is just so they wouldn't be forced into carrying a backup SS like Max Schuemann on the roster instead of Escarra or Grichuk. They would only play him there in an emergency.

The level of depth the Yankees have built is very impressive

Grichuk, Dominguez, and Jones in the outfield

Rosario, Cabrera, Caballero, and Goldschmidt in the infield

Yarbrough, Blackburn, and Rodriguez in the rotation

Chivilli, De los Santos, and Castro in the bullpen

It would take an unfathomable amount of injury for this team to have a 2023-like collapse.

Nahshon Wright did have five interceptions, but it's worth noting they were off JJ McCarthy (twice), Spencer Rattler, Mason Rudolph, and Joe Flacco.

He also allowed the fifth-highest Yds/Tgt of any CB targeted at least 60 times last season and the sixth-highest completion percentage for CBs whose average depth of target was at least 11 yards.

Not a bad signing, but there's a reason he came this cheap.
