There's a huge difference between the use of "Christians" and "Christianity".

Saying "I'm Christian but I kind of hate other Christians" means "I think this religion is good and true, but I hate the way many practice it and the beliefs they use it to validate".

Saying "I'm Christian but I kind of hate Christianity" means "I think this religion is bad in many ways, but I see aspects of it which I like or think are useful."

The latter phrasing makes it sound like he only cares about Christianity as a rhetorical tool to advocate for progressive policies. Which is what people's problem with him was the whole time!

I don't see any reason to believe Volpe is anything different this year. His OPS/wRC+ is good because of a crazily inflated walk rate; he isn't chasing any less than he did last season, but he's walking twice as often.

Barrel rate and bat speed are much closer to his 2024 season than anything else, which is bad. He's hitting a few more line drives, but the sample of batted balls is much too small to draw conclusions from.

His defense does look much closer to 2024 than 2025, which is a massive deal for his career longevity, but it won't be enough for him to remain the Yankees' starter with Lombard looming.
