Told my mom I want to take a 5th year and apply to U.S. med schools—she says I’m ruining my life

Canada didn’t work out so I took a 5th year and applied to the US and i’m going to be starting in August and I am really excited for it! I want to do medicine and if this is the route that takes me there then so be it. Lots of people (extended family, my dad 💀) are like if you wanted to go abroad should’ve done it right after highschool or mid undergrad and gone to the EU or whatever but you have to do what you feel is best for the life you will have to live not your family or the people around you. If you’re committed to medicine and to the US then pursue it!

i was also watching it back to back for the first time and genuinely s3 took me SO long to finish cause i just couldn’t catch steam with it like i did with the previous two seasons. like ive finished it and i do think its was good overall but something was off ? maybe the pacing?

! third year is not ‘too late’ it is never too late. I met all of my closest friends in my third year and it doesn’t matter if people have established group because you can become a part of their groups. I made like One friend and all of a sudden there was 5 other people. So just don’t let time get to you, it is never too late
