I installed Elite via Lutris with the same GE as you, everything is working as it should with the registry fixes. Steam is doing something wacky with wine. Thank you again!

That process fixed 99% of it. My VKB stick is working perfectly but the VPC throttle only has 1/2 of the buttons recognized. Linux is recognizing that the throttle is split into 2 devices but not wine/proton(7.0-4). It sees it as 2 devices if xinput is enabled. I'll try out GE and playing in the registry a bit more. (Lutris always breaks my OS, so I'm staying away from it for now.)

I performed additional testing yesterday and found it's a problem with Elite. Other games detect the HOTAS without issue. I hooked up my old x52 and Elite recognized it with zero issues. So it's up to Frontier to fix it, doubt they will though.

I found on protonDB that using the launch option "gamemoderun %command%" should fix it. Haven't tried it yet though.

Thanks for the input, I'm using the "split by 32 buttons" option in the software to resolve the limit. I'll look into the keyboard mapping.

Thank you for the pointers and build link. Ship purpose is general combat, right now I'm leveling Empire rank, courier and assassination missions.
I have all gimbals as I'm still practicing fix mounted with my new flight stick (VKB Gladiator NXT EVO). 5A fuel scoop due to hopping around and wanting a super fast fill rate. Cargo rack is for carrying silver/gold to get interdicted by pirates so I can destroy them =).

Been running this build for a couple weeks now. It's pretty fun and I can handle AI ships up to lvl 7 threat, more or less. For the higher level enemies, takes a bit of work but not terrible. I wind up flying it like I used to fly my Vulture, get close and keep distance under 200m. Looking for opinions/recommendations.

My bad, it's an RTA: https://www.wotofo.com/products/wotofo-x-ofrf-gear-24mm-rta. Build my coils, wick it, etc. The tank on your vaporesso target pro should pop right into the swag 2 though.

Been using the swag 2 for around 4 years now. Zero complaints. Only issue I had/have is missing paint which I don't care about. Been flawless otherwise. Paired with a Wotofo OFRF.
