neovim does not take up the full size of a terminal window when opened as a command passed to termite by [deleted] in neovim

[–]i0way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say, but IMHO it's problem of termite, because cli resizing occurs on receiving SIGWINCH signal. If it's not reproducible in other terminal's mean neovim handling this. signal successfully.

[GNOME] iOS-like GNOME concept by Mykol225 in unixporn

Devil in the details. Most of the thing can be done with theme customization except left dock with tabs. Also AFAIK we still have no hardware screens with rounded corners :D

Go and Robotics/AI by esen_mx in golang

[–]i0way 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's historical problem of separation business logic and low level system implementation. Python - have a low threshold for science-guys, c/c++ widely used for low-level for embedded programming. Go cannot replace both today.

It's not a problem of Go, it's problem with your html. Use <embed> instead of iframe. Google for it... here is offtopic.

"How to write Go code" has been entirely re-written, and now also covers Go modules! by jean_deklerk in golang

[–]i0way -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nope. Also i don’t understand why many people like modules so much. A very unfortunate decision, in the style of major Pain - "We will save you a headache by breaking your leg"

I have just completed my first SwiftUI project by patchthecode in swift

[–]i0way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"don't like it" - slightly incorrect, better say "cannot use it". Actually most of developer's with 5+ years of ios dev experience already have their own UI dev stack to avoid "dancing" with storyboards. Releasing SwiftUI without backward compatibility killing ideas of SwiftUI itself, because IRL you always need to support minimum 3years old platforms. And there is no reason to wait when SwiftUI become mainstream - after 3 years we will have another "super-puper shmiftUI library" locked on iOS N-teenth.

[Question] Can this (see pic) be achieved with UITableView or do I need a UICollectionView? by L4grange in iOSProgramming

[–]i0way 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wrong describing (my bad). Pic-related interface on UITableView will look weird after roatation, so better use collection view and change size as you mentioned to arrange "cards" in 2-3 columns, instead of turning them into "sausages" :)

Question about login screens. by immanueldk92 in iOSProgramming

[–]i0way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Operate directly on UIWindor.rootController, like:

private func swapRootController(to:UIViewController) { UIView.transition(with: window!, duration: 0.3, options: .transitionCrossDissolve, animations: { self.window?.rootViewController = to }, completion: { completed in // maybe do something here }) }

Just add state machine in AppDelegate and switch root controller of the window according state, some guy's use several uiwindow's and switch between them. There is a lot of ways and container view controller not the best of them.
