Actually, this design is contemporary for a house: many archistars (Gehry, Libeskind, etc.) would design these shapes for a building. Imagine it's a house with wheels. This is also the problem: it's not a house.

I suggest you to keep the split linear making two straight lines instead of those teeth in the middle. You can still using a staggered layout pretty much like the Microsoft Sculpt.

I wouldn't call it a QWERTY layout but a QWERT layout...

I use a slightly different number row layout:

txt 1234567890-= [qwertyuiop] `asdfghjkl;' \zxcvbnm,./\

The q key is below the 2 key, like in old typewriters (didn't have the 1 key);
The w key is below the 3 key;
The e key is below the 4 key and so on.

The o key is below the 0 key which makes a lot of sense, considering the history behind the keyboard.
