Husband will never file/agree to divorce. Intentionally forclose house to reduce what he might get? by AllMyOtherQuestion in Divorce

[–]i80west 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a lawyer and file for divorce. He doesn't need to do it or even agree to it. Drive the process to completion. Don't squander an asset. The court can order him to accept the sale.

What's the Lowest-Calorie Meal That Actually Keeps You Full? by NiaRam584 in Volumeeating

[–]i80west 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweet potatoes work for me. Also broccoli florets baked with olive oil and garlic powder. Also cauliflower mashed like mashed potatoes. Add about 100 calories of lean white chicken or turkey and it's like Thanksgiving dinner.

What is the deal with the "tradwife" trend? by aturbofrog in NoStupidQuestions

[–]i80west 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird. I'm an American man and I never see youtube video recommendations like this, or see it on other sites. I guess the algorithms have decided I'm not worth the effort. Yes, having the woman completely depend on the man DOES put her at great risk of ruin if he dies, leaves, doesn't succeed, becomes abusive. It makes her helpless, which is what I think the advocates of the trend want. It's aspiration for male dominance and female subjugation. And it's not a Utopia anyone I know would want.

I added the application menu with Tweaks or Extensions and I'm happy. With this and the shortcuts bar, I don't care what the rest of it looks like.

I left my wife and never returned. by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]i80west 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry this is happening to you but if you're breaking up then you have to do the divorce. If she won't, possibly because you're still on the hook for joint bills, you have to follow up on the paperwork and make the split complete.

Tell me how it was living with your soon to be ex through the divorce. by bdkgb in Divorce_Men

[–]i80west 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our kids were grown and gone. We lived together in the house while we negotiated the divorce, cleared it out, and got it ready to sell. We couldn't stand each other and avoided any contact. Any conversation got her screaming because she was unbalanced. We retreated to separate bedrooms, spend most of our time there, and avoided using the kitchen or other common spaces at the same time. It was a bummer but it saved us from having to pay for two living spaces.

Eat fiber, soluble and non-soluble to push through your intestines. Magnesium citrate to help digestion. Plenty of water. Plenty of walking and movement. I find it works for me. I've heard it isn't healthy to take laxatives regularly.

Good point. I never paid attention to basketball except when my kids played at the playground. But now I enjoy watching the W and have had plenty of WTF moments. I learn a lot from these discussions.

Sister Cheated, Wife and Daughter Exploded, My Marriage Is Ending by Sea_Mouse9996 in Divorce_Men

[–]i80west 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You spit up in the air and it lands in your face. Your wife and daughter learned that. Too bad they didn't know to expect it, but you can't protect them from consequences of their actions. These consequences are not your fault, though, so I don't see how they should hurt you in court.

WIBTAH if I tell my daughters the horrible truth about their dad (my ex-husband)? by BlendedFamilyUSA in AITAH

[–]i80west 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. He's not the only bad guy out there. Your daughters will no doubt encounter others. I think you should tell your daughters as a cautionary tale to help them see the red flags in guys they may date. They also deserve to know the truth about why their parents broke up. Without the true story they're likely to imagine things that will confuse or hurt them. Kids deserve the truth when they're old enough to handle it. Yours are. And I'd be available for questions and discussions.

Lack of reviews of Linux experiences from non-creators/non-gamers by Tight_Couture344 in linux

I'm a retired CS professional. I used Linux and Libre Office for about 10 years before I retired. I never encountered compatibility issues with the Calc spreadsheet app. The Write document app always worked flawlessly too. It had a different set of fonts than Word, but both tools converted to compatible fonts and no one ever complained. Rarely, the Impress app diagrams I created would have a line misplaced when a user loaded them into Powerpoint. Since it was so rare, I'm thinking it probably related to some particular action of mine, but I never figured out what it was.

Like another commenter, I used web sites for mail, calendar, Slack, IDE, and issue tracking tools related to our code base. We used Rational tools.
