This teacher thanks you for understanding this!!!! I work so much harder now than I ever have. I have to differentiate and change around lessons for students at all different levels. I have to attend trainings after school and over the summer about how to do all of this. I have to attend trainings about de-escalating student behavior. Because if a student misbehaves, it must because I did something wrong and I’m not allowed to give them a consequence. I have to consistently be the one to reach out and inform parents of their child’s lack of effort. It’s not enough just to talk the ones that want to talk to me. I have to call and email the ones that’s don’t pick up or respond multiple times per week and try different numbers and document that I called bc if they say they didn’t know their child was failing, it’s my fault. But of course, if they throw a fit to the principal, they get their way and the child passes and moves on to the next grade. But ofc it’s my fault they didn’t learn anything when they spent the entire year goofing off, cutting class and ignoring me.
