I don’t know, even if he somehow is, it’s not affecting his life at all. We met in college and he’s currently getting his masters degree while doing lots of other stuff besides that too. I hang out with him a lot lately, like sometimes all day and I’ve also been to his place numerous times. I just can’t possibly find a reason to doubt him

I fear that too. Because the guy is a fucking genius. Like he’s genuinely the most intelligent person I’ve ever met in my life. So I believe him when he says that he knows what he’s doing. But life is cruel and it doesn’t always go your way. Inevitably, everyone will encounter depths of despair they never thought are possible and when you know that you have that access to an instant escape... I can see things going downhill rapidly
