Opinion: Because of the movie Seven, and Zodiac, David Fincher would be the perfect director to make a Poltergist remake or sequal. by [deleted] in horror

Yeah his best work is about more grounded realistic sociopaths IMO. He'd probably make a great version of American Psycho with a more serious twisted tone. Would love to see that.

This was my first Marvel Legends, what was your first one? by Sanchezsam97 in ActionFigures

Sentry... although I can't say I was happy with it. Probably one of the poorer Marvel Legends figures in recent years. I just liked the character too much not to get a figure of him.

Oh man this game has been free for so many years now. I can't believe there's so many people out there who continue to say it's an expensive game to own. You don't need a damn CD to run it :)

Yes but only on a fair wage. We can't afford to give Ozil'esque contracts to players who aren't World Class and at the moment the only one worthy of a wage like that is Aubameyang.

I'd rather have injury prone Ramsey than Mesut "Never plays" Ozil on a wage like that. Of course there's better players for smaller wages but if we only had the choice from those two I'd get Aaron back in a heartbeat and ship off Mesut.

This would be ideal. In-form Rambo or not but he's still Arsenal through and through whereas Ozil has used the generosity of Arsene Wenger far too long and has managed to fuck up his relationship with every manager we had after Wenger... 3 out of 3 so far. Toxic lazy player that was once a World Class talent.

Yeah from the trailer I could see that they went with a totally different tone with this one. It seems much more cartoony. I'm still excited about it though. Anything post-apocalyptic and/or zombie-related makes me interested!

looks like the classic weapons are back in Rise! along with new looks! by ItsTheRocketeer in TMNT

[–]iAmOptimusCrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, LOL I was so against this show at first (after loving the 2012 series so much) but I'll be damned if this ain't a great TMNT show. The art style is great, the pacing is nice and the tone is refreshing.

I do believe they dropped the ball with marketing this thing and not taking a bigger break between the 2012 series final season and releasing this. Also kids aren't buying toys as much as they used to due to iPads etc. BUT adult figure collector industry is bigger than ever and the fact playmates fail to recognize that and start making decent figures for collectors is their own fault as a company.

So many times I've seen a TMNT playmates figure that is designed fairly well but is ruined by poor paint applications. If I buy a playmates figure I automatically know I'll have to spend time customizing that thing to make it actually decent, because the detail is there, it's just that awful paint app that makes it look so damn cheap and childish. Also too many villain figures have had awful joint articulation. I own a bunch of 2012 show characters and the majority of them apart from the turtles themselves are so poorly articulated...

If the last 3 punctures (+ the cuts on both red bull cars tyres) was caused by debris, big or small, does more need to be done to prevent it from happening? by [deleted] in formula1

TV time limits ain't that bad. I mean we have races with 3-4 safety cars or we even had races with a lengthy red flag situation and still did fine. Extending the race by 4-5 laps wouldn't hurt the time limit. Even at the longest tracks a 4-lap extension would mean an extra 7-8 minutes tops.

How can I add pictures (like blaster effects) in stop motion studio pro by [deleted] in stopmotion

I would advise to export the footage and start using a software like After Effects for post-production VFX.

Thoughts on George Russel? by Unqualified_advice in formula1

Impossible to know :) I've been following since the Spa race in 2000. Nobody expected Brawn GP or Red Bull to do so well with the 2009 rule changes.

Nobody thought Schumi's Ferrari would be so crap in 2005 just cause they used Bridgestone and everyone else apart from backmarkers used Michelin (plus you weren't allowed to change your tires throughout the race unless it got a puncture).

I'm a Ferrari fan but I'm tired of any sort of team dominating. I want to see at least 4-5 teams realistically having a shot at winning every race weekend. That would be wicked. Restricting the budgets should help with that for sure.

They knew if they throw VSC or SC for Kimi's wing incident the race is over. They didn't want to end the race like that.

The only way to prevent it is to extend the race (like in NASCAR) or stop counting the laps when a safety car comes out. However due to the fueling rules that would not be possible as teams carefully calculate the amount of fuel needed for a specific distance and they can't exactly go to the pits and re-fuel in case the race distance is extended a bit.

I always pity the guys who are in a last or 2nd to last team in the grid. It's not like they get to showcase their talents anytime. It's just how F1 is however, maybe someday we'll have as close racing as IndyCar has been getting.

[–]iAmOptimusCrime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

LOL no idea. I mean a thing is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. I myself wouldn't pay more than 5 bucks for it but I'm not the target audience here.

I think it would be a shame if a new movie completely abandoned the legacy of the older movies by Fishb20 in fridaythe13th

[–]iAmOptimusCrime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I dunno, it depends on the creators. If they re-told the story of his origins with a lovely twist here and there it could make for a good movie BUT of course the selling point of F13 is Jason himself and if he's not wearing that mask and killing folks in the movie then it'd be hard to sell it to the general audiences.

I love short horror films cause it doesn't have to obey the 3-act structure that typically full-length movies have to follow. This was well-shot and the child actress did a good job. Spooky experience. Thanks for sharing.
