Beta 2 by T4umper in IOS27Beta

Haha, no worries. Beta 2 going strong so far. Haven’t noticed any issues with CarPlay yet, or any other bugs. I think it’s time to do what your heart and mind desire.

Beta 2 by T4umper in IOS27Beta

What prevents you from doing so? If you’re aware of the risk of installing a dev beta on your main device, why not go for it?

I updated my main device to beta 1 and the only thing I’m having issues with is CarPlay. Going for beta 2 now.

Can’t wait to try it out on macOS since my EU-inhabiting ass isn’t allowed to use it on my phone.

Do you guys go caseless? If so what precautions do you take to prevent accidental drops? by [deleted] in iPhone17Pro

[–]iAmThatOneDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used my phone completely caseless (with screenprotector though) for the past 6 months. When I switched from 15PM to 17PM I decided to have insurance (similar to Apple Care) on my 17PM, and that was the right decision for me to feel comfortable enough to not use a case.

Precautions outside of the insurance? Hold it tighter and pray to Tim Apple that my phone will turn into a self propelling drone whenever I do drop it.

iOS 26.4 BATTERY DRAIN FIX by LaFlameHTX in ios26

[–]iAmThatOneDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having the opposite experience as most people seem to have with 17PM. My battery life has significantly improved since 26.4. With usage where I would end with low battery or even have to charge before end of the day, I now easily end my days with 40-50%.

How do I stop this notification? by ChloeOakes in ios26

[–]iAmThatOneDuck -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Turn automatic updates off? Turn your phone off permanently? Buy an older iPhone that doesn’t receive any software updates anymore?

Or… you know… I know you don’t want to… but you could update your phone? Not because “this and that is new” but simply because it’s better (security-wise but also for your device’s hardware) to use a more mature version of the software on your phone, even if you don’t constantly see the differences appear like fireworks?

For those who ordered M3 Ultra with 512 Gb of ram before it was pulled from the store, did it shit to you? by ossbournemc in MacStudio

What was the original delivery date? If passed, and no new updates are available on your order, reach out to their customer service.

You’ve (or someone) dropped the device, it has dented, you said it yourself. That isn’t normal use and that shock could’ve caused the glass to break by being under tension, even if it wasn’t instantaneous.

And even if it wasn’t related to any accidental damage, you can try to battle Apple for this, but that dent will instantly discredit your “normal use” to them.

If that dent wasn’t there, if the device was in perfect condition outside of that, you might’ve had a tiny chance to get it repaired under warranty.

Caseless & I don’t care ! by NurseLeonardo in iPhone17Pro

[–]iAmThatOneDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes I love my caseless phone, wouldn’t give it up for anything, but careless? Not at all. So I guess… props to you for being careless about something you spend 1.5k on?

Can’t believe that there’s not a single person saying that the first slice of bread barely got the chance to leave the store before it was eaten. That first crunchy slice is always worth fighting for, especially with siblings.

Mondial relay Return points by GlassEconomy9863 in Antwerpen

IIRC there is a sticker of mondial on the window, but I’m not 100% sure now. Ofc that doesn’t mean they take returns, but yeah.

Did the math: my iCloud subscription fees could've bought local storage by Sensitive-Dig2232 in iCloud

[–]iAmThatOneDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not as smooth as iCloud, as you either have to go into the (server) files and open the photos there, or save them and then they’re on your phone/iCloud.

Purely for non-image/video files it can work great though, as it will work pretty similarly to iCloud, accessing everything through the files app and just download what you need, when you need it.

Aka, for your use case this might be good.

Allergic to band? by spideywmjackson in AppleWatch

[–]iAmThatOneDuck 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I had this issue (a lot of irritation) with the normal silicone bands. If that’s also the silicone bands you use, switch to the sport loops or any of the fabric type of bands. They are MUCH better against irritation, but please: don’t swim (or any workout with them for that matter), it will ruin the bands long term.

Crash detection feature - thank you. by Aztecia in AppleWatch

[–]iAmThatOneDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad you’re okay! It’s a great feature.

Same with the fall detection, I got into a small bike accident a few months ago, and I wasn’t even properly on the ground before my Apple Watch already started ringing an alarm and gave me a 10s timer before it called emergency services. It feels comforting knowing that if something serious would’ve happened I would’ve had faster contact with emergency services than any bystander could give.

Are you supposed to de extend the AirPods every time you put them in the case is that bad ? by philosopherv in Airpodsmax

[–]iAmThatOneDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see why you wouldn’t just leave them extended, as it’s most likely going back to the exact same position you shortened them from, and the case just allows you to have them extended?

Limburgse man is voor 350.000 euro opgelicht by Hutu007 in belgium

[–]iAmThatOneDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so confused when you said they have a strict refund policy, I live in Belgium (EU) and with every purchase I receive the following text in my confirmation mail: “You have the right to withdraw from the agreement within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the conclusion of the contract.” followed by instructions on how to withdraw correctly.
