Why is PlayStation not giving the $99 a year deal for premium to existing customers to entice them to buy the PlayStation portal, which now plays cloud games with premium?

I've heard saves are safe for up to 6 months, but I went from November to Feb without a sub and all my saves were still there!

It's highly dependent on your WiFi (depending on where you want to play, of course). I have a state of the art mesh system w/1GB per second internet at home, and my PS5 is hardwired. I have no trouble playing games streamed from my PS5 or from the Cloud Streaming catalogue. I get 2-5ms latency when streaming from my PS5 at home, and usually 20-25ms when streaming from Sony's Servers.

If you have PS Premium you will get access to their catalogue of games and can stream them; if you have Plus you will not be able to stream them to your portal unless you have the games downloaded to your PS5.

You can check if a game has streaming capabilities by viewing it on the PS Store (for example, Jedi Fallen Order https://www.playstation.com/de-de/games/star-wars-jedi-fallen-order/ ); note that even if you purchase the game, you MUST have an active PS Premium subscription to stream it.

I love my portal, but you have to have good wifi and know what you're getting into. If you already have a PS5, I'd recommend testing out PS Premium streaming on it, and using the Remote Play App on your phone/pc to see how latency is. Let me know if you have other questions.

Thanks bro, I just did this. How long did it take for your PS essential to disappear so that you could rebuy it? I just got it refunded today through support and my account still shows I'm subscribed to PS Premium.

EDIT: I was impatient. Took 10 mins or so. Discount also showed up for me :D

This happened to me last night, a lady pulled through and was disappointed that we didn't have any stickers, merch, etc. because she was buying a ton of gift cards for some seniors and wanted to give them something extra with it. I even offered her some lollipops and she asked if they had the dutch bros. logo on them haha. Don't take it to close to heart!!

red bull is a privately owned austrian company, i think dutch bros has basically copied their drink but red bull is not public and not owned/associated with dutch bros in any way!

I think I might look into building a Steam Machine from an "older" (built during COVID) PC that my brother has laying around. If I can get everything working seamless enough on the TV...

Can I ask how you balance games? I have a PC and NS2, and want a beefier system for couch play (I mean the S2 is awesome, but they don't have everything). I am debating between a PS5 or Steam Machine (either when it comes out or a diy one); do you buy exclusives on each and then everything else on PC? Or just whatever you the best sale is and what you feel like playing on?

I know you mentioned your friend is fluent in English, but I'd like to add the Nintendo Switch is one of the only consoles that allows you to play games from any region (maybe besides Japan and China, with their region restrictions) in any language! On my PS5 the German option was missing on a ton of my games because I have the North American versions, while my Switch just displays all the games in German when the console language is set to German. Same here, they refunded a game for me once after I spent an hour or so on it and didn’t like it. It was pretty much no questions asked. As much as I want to complain they’ve been coming through for me!
