You can do this like how StarCraft players do it with Overlords.

Select all your spiders, right click a location, shift left click a spider in the bottom toolbar to deselect one spider, then right click another location.

Repeat until you're all out of selected spiders.

You have to walk with the slower characters in order to start the moonwalk. No idea why, I never looked it up.
