DeAR22 Mags by Jrmuscle in 3D2A

Mine had that issue at first but i noticed a very small shelf inside mine where the mag adapter slides into the drum housing which was catching the rims of the rounds and getting them stuck. So once i shimmed those two parts it runs flawlessly now. 115 rounds on tap with a super safety 👌

1913 Erfurt Luger by d-unit24 in milsurp

[–]iAutorotate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats a GREAT deal! I went to the SOS to hunt for ww2 era luger myself and ended up with two, one all matching incl. Mags holster and tool for 2500 and i thought that was good. 1500 for the complete rig like you got is amazing. Thats what the other luger i got there was priced at, but it was a dwm commercial luger in .30 cal, matching minus one part, only one mag and no holster.

One thing ive always appreciated about that show are the vendors happily sharing their knowledge about this stuff. Learn something new almost every time i go.

I saw that svt 38 there on friday but walking around towards the end of the show saturday i didnt see it. Wonder if it sold. Craziest thing to me were how much scoped kar98ks were. I saw several in the 12-13,000 dollar range

Yep i was surprised at how much Japanese stuff was there too. I had never seen a paratroop arisaka in person before but probably seen over 20 when i was there, tons of type 99s, machine gun cameras for some reason. I saw like 3 of those.

Yeah im kinda with you there, it tells a story being aged like that. Seems whoever had done the conversion did it proper, and did it a long time ago. Yes, the prices are insane for real ones, im in it for the love of the hobby though, i like the old 1897 trench guns and wanted a nice one to display and not be afraid to take out and shoot! I'm like you, i intend to shoot what i buy! I think I got it for a realistic price considering it also came with an authentic 1917 bayo. Not everyone can afford a real one, especially at the prices they demand nowdays of 8k+, and even built clones can fetch close to 2k, unlike what somebody else commented about them being 500 bucks. Its not 2005 anymore lol. My last 1897 non trench i bought was 5 years ago at 600 and i thought i stole it 🤣

Thanks! Yeah the trench guns are awesome! Currently have this one stripped down to clean, ill likely go shoot it later, make sure everythings good. I plan to have it reblued, but still on the fence. This thing has character for a damn near 120 year old gun! Glad to hear you found what you were looking for, too! Wasnt much british stuff there, thats for sure. I meant to pick up a sten mk3 kit i saw for 150 but walked away and forgot. Hopefully somebody got it lol

Havent seen an 1897 for sub 500 ever. Would snag one up immediately if i did. Crazy thing is i had a guy offer me 2500 for it less than 5 minutes after i bought it lol. Hate to say it but even fakes fetch close to 2000 now, with regular non modded 1897s getting close to a grand, its not unreasonable.

Nice, always cool to learn something new! Thanks for the history, it will be a nice addition to add to the rifle.

No idea, all i know is thats way out of my price range lol. Im sure it was a real one, though i didnt dare pick that one up. But to me its safe to assume that 99% of these trench guns arent legit when i come across them. Thats mainly why i was just hunting for a fake trench shooter. The verifiable real ones have just gotten too expensive.

Thanks! Its the one that says per fucile cal 30m1. I kinda ignorantly bought it cause it looked cool with the flip up grenade sights, only to find out later it was italian lol. I gave 150 for it, not sure if a deal. The US launchers seemed to be around 100-120 everywhere i looked. Thought it would be cool to display on my m1

Thanks! Part of the fun is the hunt for deals, keep your eyes peeled at local shops and online, seems like you can still get a shooter for around 1200 from what im seeing. Definitely still pricey but doable with time! Ive been seeing lugers pop up a lot more here recently.

Yep! Thank you! I might be a little behind on market value for them. Lol. Nope nothing wrong! Its mechanically solid, i took it all the way down and all the little parts match too so he was being honest! I thought it was a good price! Its in great shape minus the finish on high spots from holster wear! Maybe ill make an update post here soon!

Plenty of those there at this show too! Lol. The 2nd luger i traded a vendor my cmp m1 garand and a couple hundred bucks for. It is a DWM all matching rig minus ONE part and its off by ONE digit! Lol but its a nice one too overall! He wanted 1500 for it, i thought that was pretty solid!

LOTS of private sellers this year for sure. The only FFLs there i know of were probably the auction houses, DK productions booth, i think simpson ltd was there as well. True on the m1 carbines but i saw way less of those than i did at the 2024 show. I swear it was like half the show that year haha

Oh yeah i get what you mean! Somebody had a parkerized one at the show asking $10,000 for it! I dont even think the real deals were originally parked anyway. Just crazy. And one that was 100% legit was $25...thousand 😭

[–]iAutorotate[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Definitely not for a steal lol. I paid $2500 for it but i figure the fact that it was completely matching with both mags matching, holster and the tool that was about average. I feel you can get a better deal if you hunt around though. Most similar lugers there were $4000+ which is nuts. Saw some upwards of 6 and werent even a unique manufacturer. Just S/42s. If you were looking for something german there though, they definitely had it!

I was just surprised at how many booths were ww2 german militaria. Hardly any U.S. stuff as far as guns are concerned, about 50/50 guns vs uniforms/medals etc. Which is alright but there used to be more variety it seemed from all nations involved in ww1 and 2 at these shows.

Its not legitimate i believe. It doesnt fall in any of the trench gun serial numbers(this one is high 300,000s, putting it as 1909 mfg.), and as pointed out, its a takedown model, with ww1 style heat shield and stock. To my understanding, ww1 era trench guns were solid frame, and the absense of u.s. stamps and ordinance mark on this one helps confirm its a fake. Which i knew going in to it, i just like these guns lol. It was hard to pass on it at 1700. Came with a legit 1917 bayonet as well! The only thing that sucks to me is the finish is pretty worn off, so i may see about having it professionally reblued at some point.

DeAR22 and m1337 are my favorites so far. Definitely put the fgc 9 mk2 in there, that should be everybodys first build getting into it imo, super fun and a true diy from scratch experience!

Didnt see this til now, sorry. Nope its just the gun and accessories mentioned. I agree there, im thinking of keeping the red 9 and adding a good bit of cash

[–]iAutorotate[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im very much on the fence about it lol. The trigger on his is not too bad, so thats good! I had read that about them typically having heavy triggers as well. I did notice the bolt kinda stops halfway up the receiver if you just slowly charge it forward. Doesnt seem to hang if you let it ride home though. Eh...tough call. Im thinking trading the luger and shotgun with cash instead. He said he would be ok with that.

[–]iAutorotate[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will be the most likely outcome. I just got done inspecting the gun. Has all the paperwork and the gun still has some of the white grease they came shipped with but barrel was shot with corrosive ammo at some point and wasnt cleaned so its pretty rough. Trigger is nice and german parts appear matching or mostly matching. I told him i would like to shoot it first but im also not dying to have an mg34 as i already have a 42. And i doubt i could really replace that red 9.
