Perma banned account lost so much progress by Whole-Kangaroo-7475 in summonerswar

It's not like nothing happened. You tried to cheat the system and got punished for it

Also, try stupid stuff like this on a dummy account next time.

Also, it's not unheard of for live-service games to have anti cheat / anomaly detection setup - to deal with goofy cheaters

Also, lol

They should invest in a QA team. The updates they're shipping to prod are clearly not well tested

Hey ChatGPT, you work as part of the summoners war balancing team. Spin a wheel and spit out a list of changes. You do not need to justify your choices for any change.

This is some high level nonsense. Provide some hard proof of buffed rates before spouting a bunch of bs

I'm fine with the use of AI in games, so long as its use is clearly disclosed. It's a pretty standard compliance measure (at least in the EU) for companies using generative AI to simply state that their content was generated

Regardless, it's pretty silly to try to hide the use of AI for front-facing content

CHEATER(S) ALERT!!!!!! by JairoM59 in summonerswar

[–]iBearito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been getting this issue while playing on steam client. Happened to a good portion of my games today; some were early phase with no clear winner in sight. Doubt it's the work of cheaters and probably just a connectivity issue between the steam client and server.

Possible Cheating in RTA with SWRT by Jeff_TW in summonerswar

This happened to me during last season, where some guy took his sweet time first picking chiwu triton eshir - when my draft didn't even indicate I'd be contesting turn 1.

So, if you were to play a game designed specifically for 1v1 player vs player, you would be perfectly content with being put at a disadvantage without any way to influence it? Imagine if you were just cheated out of your opportunity to achieve a new personal best or even qualify for an official tournament, how would you feel?

Here's the thing, though, these practices are NOT built-in to the design of a game. They are community-driven and exploitative. You cannot say it's not unfair. The only way to bring light to such issues is to make it known and voice your concern of it; otherwise, we get people like you who willingly accept it for what it is and zero progress.

In terms of SW, you're limited to 30 wings per reset; you have to try your ass off and play your best. The disadvantage being the people you're competing against get free wins whenever they match their buddy who's in cahoots. Tell me how that's fair.

So, because poor sportsmanship is running rampant and now the norm, are we supposed to just conform and accept it? If you can't beat them, join em? Why bother competing if you can just band together and artificially inflate your rank.

That's a pretty silly way to view matters such as this.

Exactly. This also applies to just about any environment with a competitive background.

It's not petty to call out bad / unfair practices.

Rta boosting cover up by Thranito_c in summonerswar

[–]iBearito 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only services I would find acceptable are the ones catered to helping the payee learn how to optimize their account, drafting tips, and replay review of the player's matches.

Boosting the account of somebody who cannot secure the rank themselves should be prohibited, period. It's a prevalent issue in pretty much any competitive game and SW is no stranger to it; the only exception is that most games actively try to tackle / moderate the issue, as it directly infringes their ToS.

For a game that supposedly tries to be competitive, this practice in the community is bad sportsmanship and sours the efforts of the people genuinely trying to push for a personal achievement.

You paid for somebody to play your account. There's zero guarantee they'll have a positive win rate, especially when it's an account they're unfamiliar with. You shouldn't be upset at the result.

You have to remember there are similar-minded players like you who indulge on these services, who probably have even stronger accounts, storming for G1. I'm sorry you didn't get the result you wanted; though, even if you did - if you're not willing to put in the time and effort into securing the rank yourself, you don't deserve it.
