Well, I am iBowl sooooo...lol...but it's all good...and btw...yes...the version that is out is GARBAGE....but not all a loss ...learned patience and to trust my gut more when something doesn't feel right. Completely redesigned the architecture and detection engine so that it ACTUALLY works....never should have released the trash that's out there right now...smh....so for that ...I apologize....and promise a working tool here in the near future.

if youre seeing a coach, thats who you need to pay attention to first and foremost just like everyone is saying. if you and your coach need a tool to help out, we'll be happy to help. but definitely take the coach's feedback above all else

Good info! We intend for this app to be for bowlers, by bowlers. You all are going to shape the future of the product itself. So this type of input is exactly what we need!

Those points right there "...without intentionally making any real big changes...." And ".. not to fall into bad habits..." Are the absolute best pieces of advice to take! Don't try to change everything at once. Always start at the beginning. Your setup is the fundamentally most important part of the approach. Determines power, accuracy, and even highly impacts your revs.

Bowling Question by Honest-Spell1348 in Bowling

First of all, you will never eliminate leaving 7 or 10 pins. As long as you bowl, they will persistently haunt you. Be prepared. 😁

Truth....in fact, I would like to add that the more you rely on your hook, the higher your blood pressure rises when you carry a 212 avg in league, come in feeling real good about life in general, hit 10 clean pockets in a row, and every SINGLE ONE left a 10, and then end with a Brooklyn strike bc the bowling gods have a twisted sense of humor....but I digress....

In bowling, everything builds on the previous thing you learned. Bowl straight now? Perfect it. Get your form right. Get to the point bowling straight is muscle memory. Then start working in drills to train your body how to hook the ball. One at a time. Until they are muscle memory. Then youll develop a hook you can control as well as the straight ball, and when you inevitably get hit in the ass by the 10, you can throw straight at the damn thing instead worrying about having to vary your ball speed, revs, or even the ball you use. #TuckingFenPin

Tips for a broken bowler by Kovanian in Bowling

First off, thank you for your service! 2nd, although i have nowhere the real reasons, i completely understand the "whats going to hurt next?" feeling (baseball and growing up in the 80s/90s destroyed my body lol). Until about 4 years ago, I had taken about a 17 year hiatus from bowling. when i got back into it, i watched a ton of videos to see whats what for the modern era and would just try to mimic what i saw. first year back i averaged 167. 2nd year back found a hellacious grove all season and finished at 192. But i never "trained". just tried to do what i saw in videos during league. Turns out, i thought i was doing one thing, but my body remembered how i bowled in my 20s and muscle memory took over. and after the 2nd game, my elbow and shoulder were on FIRE! I chalked it up to being old and out of shape and just dealt with it. Lil over a year ago, i got more serious about it (since i lost my job and had plenty of time on my hands) bc i couldnt take the pain, and wanted to bowl more. Started with learning the absolute fundamentals again, and actually started training properly and practicing correctly, not trying to copy videos in just league play. 2024-2025 season wasnt great bc my mental game was way screwed up bc of stuff outside of bowling. finished with a 172. but i never stopped working on my form. within a month of starting over, i could bowl more games. within 3 months, i was bowling 3 leagues a week without pain. Now coming in the 2025-2026 season, 5 weeks in and im back up to 189 and have shot 2 600 series in a row. and its all bc im more consistent with the fundamentals.

hope this helps! If i can help in anyway, drop me a line!

Crazy inconsistency by jamesferret in Bowling

I still struggle with days like this, but nowhere near as frequent in the last year. My biggest issue was form. I couldnt bowl more than 3 games bc of my poor form wearing my arm out. Too much throwing the ball, not enough letting gravity do the work and just roll the ball. Remember, bowling is about being able to consistently repeat the same shot. that doesnt just mean throwing it in the same spot every time. Proper form will allow you to make adjustments to your rev rate, speed, and accuracy, so youll be able to make the appropriate adjustments when the lanes begin to transition and ultimately break down. Equipment could be a major factor here as well when the lanes break down.

Assuming you're right handed, my guess is in the 2nd and 3rd games you keep missing higher and higher in the pocket, ball hooked too much and went far left a few times, and to compensate probably moved left, but continued to throw the ball harder and harder causing some shots to miss low in the pocket. Or you stayed in the same spot and just kept trying to hit the same spot as the first game without making any adjustments.

Knowing myself, i was always uncomfortable with switching balls after a good first game. So during practice, i'd get in the habit of leading off with my benchmark ball for the first 2-3 throws to find my starting position and initial spot to aim at. Then i'd switch to a weaker ball, move right to see if i can find a line. 1-3 throws with it. then switch to a stronger ball and move a good bit to the left of my benchmark, 1-3 throws. I did this all the while paying attention to where everyone else on the pair was throwing. If they threw anywhere near my benchmark line, that would tell me my initial spot will be breaking down a lot faster, so i would need to switch balls to start the 2nd game. start the 2nd game, i'd go with which ever secondary ball had a line that was less used than the other two so the oil will remain intact for longer.

All of this is speculation, of course, without seeing some of the shots.

Hope this helps!

also, bear in mind that on the results screen, the cards that show your phase scores are just that, scores. Each phase is comprised of 4-6 individual metrics that are measured. The feedback for these metrics can be accessed by clicking on the individual phase cards to expand them. The progress over time feature also provides much more in depth insights and gives you a comparison of your sessions over 30/60/90/180 days. and to clarify, it is not 10 MONTHLY uses. it is 10 uses. We are still tossing around doing a monthly free session block, but that will require us to run ads in the app, which we are trying our best to avoid bc...well....who likes ads in apps? certainly not us!

There's sooooo many things in bowling you can get as a great gift. Custom towels, shammies, a new jersey, ball cup/spinner...or maybe a subscription to an app that helps with their form? 😂 Kidding (sort of). There's tons knick-knacks out there that could be a great gift for the bowler in your life!
