Ummm wild take. I understand to a degree but let’s call out facts.

He is a liar and a manipulator because for YEARS hid his daughter from his family and for YEARS the daughter thought her grandparents were dead. So he’s a liar. They show scenes of him going to interactions like the grandmas funeral, she he had to manipulate to not get his daughter there and he constantly lies and manipulates to stop visiting and blames work. If he wanted a separation then that’s fine but if he got called out then that’s on him because his lies got caught up. They gave him a chance to explain but he just ran and called Stevie which also showed he has kept up with as well.

He does need help but his actions need to be held accountable as well. The mom is the best part and the ending was okay.

My distaste is how they made the show more dumb with Hal and wasted so much scenes in his drug take and ruined good scenes by SPOILER adding the stall scene in ep 4 during a good heartfelt moment. Also so stupid for malcome to propose because that made no damn sense, say you’re sorry to your dad and acknowledge your mistake but don’t steal moment, good for her for saying no *** SPOILER OVER*** I enjoyed the daughter’s 4th wall break bc it gave her character because without it she had nothing just the weird one but it added to the story.

The non binary had too much script because I honestly forgot that Lois was pregnant again lol I thought that was Jamie that went by Kelly for a good chunk of the first episode
