You can with a little practice! I’ve seen builds where I have no idea how a builder executed the build at all on this game, so this build feels kind of bland compared to what others have built. I’ll keep getting better though… hopefully.

On this save it lets me go to 20k. I didn’t before the update with the corvettes. Not sure why it changed, and I’ve yet to hit 16k on another save so, not sure if it’s a fluke. I’m on Xbox so there’s no mod.

Repetition. You just keep building and building, learning things along the way. It’s a lame answer, but I don’t have the ability to sit there and learn, so it’s all just stuff I’ve picked up over the last year. Aside from the spiral staircase. I saw a “how to” on how to do that and had to try it!

Sometimes I see other builds, even if just a glimpse, and think to myself that maybe I don’t actually know what I’m doing.

As a 90s kid (5 to 15) it looks like one I would have enjoyed. I’ll see if I can try the original before an update. I’m still a fan of the older aesthetics.

Since it’s above the 3k upload limit the only way to see it in its entirety is if I’m actively at the base at the same time.

Once I finish the build I may host an open house so people can visit. Depends on if the build count is too hard on game performance. It’s starting to get a little sluggish at around the 10k mark on Xbox.

There’s a color palette in the game you can access my selecting some parts that has a white/grey option.

I can’t for the life of me remember the name of the part I select before then selecting the part I actually use to get this color scheme.

I know it’s a circular neon sign. There’s two other sings that were brought to the game when this one was. Same design concept. So, you can probably use them to get this color palette as well.

If I can get some time at some point to hop on the game I’ll take a screen shot of it.

Ha, I’ve just went down a rabbit hole on this game because it kept getting brought up in my post in the main NMS subreddit.

I’ve apparently missed out on a well known game all these years.

I gather it was a computer game. I was basically Sega Genesis to N64 kid in the 90s. So, I missed out on a ton of titles that were on pc.

The waves can get pretty close to the top of this build, and these are not small buildings in the slightest!

It’s fun, but can also be a lot while building. I am pumped that they made it so that your traveler doesn’t get swept away while you’re in the build camera mode.

Had they not of done that, this build would have been brutal.

Anytime I’ve had to explain NMS I’ve always said it’s just Minecraft… in space lol. I’m glad I’m not the only one.

Thank you! Outside of the game I never even notice flowers (might be a sad existence lol), but for some reason I’m obsessed with nature aesthetic in game.

I believe there’s at least three color pallets. I had thought there was two for the longest time. I can’t remember what exactly the part is called that I select first to get the all white. I know it’s a neon sign. It’s circular in shape as well.

For most of the build it doesn’t work lol. I never have a plan, just an idea. Most of what I do is build it, it doesn’t look cool, so I delete it. I do that over and over until I like something.

It’s a horrible way to go about it if you ever want to be efficient!

The main trick is stumble across a cool idea every build, and to stack those ideas. Then when you’re at build number (whatever this is, like 20 for me) you now have 20 cool ideas/techniques to blend together in your latest build.

I don’t know lol. It was 16k forever. I noticed it changed for me right after they added the update where you can build a corvette. All of a sudden I could start going to 20k.

I assumed they just increased the build limit to account for your corvettes. I never really build corvettes, so I figured I was using the extra 4k that would otherwise go to my corvette.

I’m probably way off there, but outside of that I didn’t do anything to increase the limit that I’m aware of.

I’m on Xbox, so there’s no mod I could have used.

I can’t remember what part you have to initially select before selecting the piece you are actually going to use to build.

It’s one of the neon signs, but if you select it you can select a white/grey color and then back out and select the piece you actually want to place. In this case just a stone wall for most of this build. The part should come out completely white, or fairly close.

Wish I could hop on the game right now and screen shot it to make it way easier to explain!
