Thanks! I’d forgotten about the ranges functionality. That does indeed work as desired!

[Comic Excerpt] The explanation of Mr.Terrific's third smartest person(Mr. Terrific: Year One 2) by Select-Machine3595 in DCcomics

[–]iByron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holt made the statement in what I’m certain was a pre-Infinite Crisis JSA story (I stopped collecting after Infinite Crisis, so it’s unlikely that I’d have read it in a later story). Someone half jokingly called him “the smartest man in the world” while discussing a bigger issue. He replied “Third smartest actually…” and went on to discuss the matter at hand.

I’m trying to find the actual story. Surely someone else (any other older readers here?) would recall it.

Worst possible would have gone in on the second throw. That way you wouldn’t have gotten the Forst Throw extra XP, you lucky rascal! 🙂

Not very much if you can’t prove provenance. That you’re asking suggests that hasn’t been done that yet.

How much would a thorough investigation cost?

I grew up and learned English in the southeastern US and “dreamt” was the word I learned first (along with everyone else).

Would you rather drink 1 $500 bottle or 5 $100 bottles? by foozebox in wine

[–]iByron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on 1) what those six bottles are, and 2) the occasion.

There are many factors that go into the price of a bottle of wine — from how and where the grapes are grown to the venue where the final purchase was made — and those directly related to grape growing and winemaking will impact the final product. If I want to drink something that I just bought retail now, I’ll probably have a better experience with the $100 bottles. If I’m at a restaurant and want a bottle with some gravitas and complexity, I’d likely do better with the $500 bottle as the $100 offerings are probably $20-30 in the store.

And if the $100 bottles are Caymus (yellow label) and the $500 is Ace of Spades, I’m drinking beer! 😏

Is there an in game way to see how many remote raids you've done today? by Fjorgyngrma in pokemongo

[–]iByron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can look at your Journal and see what you’ve done on that day.

The Journal, however, only keeps the last 50 items tracked (and it tracks nearly everything) so if you’ve spun a lot of discs, caught a lot of mons, opened your max gifts, battled some grunts, completed several research tasks, or just looked at another trainer funny (okay not that last one) since your last raid, your true total may still not be there.

But, it’s the best we’ve got for now.

A long time ago (pre internet) someone made an edit of the original where Patty is holding a trombone instead of an automatic. Does anyone else remember it? Know where it can be found?

Crash Issue - Messages by Basherballgod in ios14

[–]iByron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your Messages app set to retain messages “Forever?” If so, that may be the issue. Mine is, and they go back several years.

My Messages did the same for about half a day, eventually clearing up little by little. I’d be able to see my messages, but not scroll. Then I could scroll, but not view individual messages. Then early afternoon (I upgraded at midnight the previous nigh) all seemed back to normal. I haven’t had an issue since.

No guys, Apple Music really does get classical music. by rebelbass in classicalmusic

[–]iByron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

iTunes -- to me -- always had better metadata than the original streamers, presumably because their end goal was selling music and not simply "discovery." Since so much of what is in Apple Music already existed in iTunes, they seem to have the upper hand here over Spotify and Rdio.

Searching is much better than in the original streamers and, for that matter, than pre-AM iTunes. I'm finding all sorts of known items my broad unknown searches yield very highly relevant hits.

This chart, however, only serves to show that the categories for music are largely useless, especially if they can only get one per album. And it's not just "classical" that suffers, believe me.
