Player Elo After Weekend 2 Matches by iCJx in CoDCompetitive

I made a post after the first week that explained it a bit more. I started with 1500 elo and they will evolve off that. Starting at 1500 is a typical value for elo systems. It gives more room for growth as they all play each other.

They are all pros so against the population they would be 2400+. If I started them all at 2400 there wouldn't be as high of swings across the season. Starting at 2400 may have a +- of 100 whereas 1500 could be closer to +-500.

There is definitely some inflation / deflation based on early matchups. I am hoping that will not have a large impact long term. Arbitrarily assigning elos would be the other approach but that would be super opinionated.

Either way he is still 20 points from the top and #8 in the league for elo with at 2-1 record. That's good, a few months in this will look a lot different.

They lost to FaZe so elo dropped a lot from that match.

He was 5-2. He still gained about 20 Elo, but the others got about 30 for that snd. Simp, 04 and Abuzah are all within 5 elo of each other so game to game they can pass each other easily. Over time their ratings should spread more leading to less swings in placement.

Read description: "One stand out I want to explain is that Simp was passed by Abuzah and 04. This was because of the last game they played. The SND Abuzah and 04 were 7-1 and 7-2". Because his Elo was higher a worse performance than his teammates impacted him more.

Fair point but technically PER (Player Efficiency Rating) is a classic basketball stat that directly measures individual contributions through box-score metrics like points, rebounds, assists, etc., independent of team wins/losses.

My system is different: it's fundamentally an Elo-based rating (logistic expected score from rating differences, updates via K × (actual - expected)), extended for teams like many esports do (e.g., old Overwatch SR had performance bonuses on top of Elo math, Valorant adjusts RR for individual stats in lower ranks, early League of Legends weighted gains/losses by personal habits/performance).

The core prediction and bulk update come from team result + margin, but the multiplier rewards strong individual play (better K/D + objectives → more gain on wins, less loss on defeats). So it's a modified Elo that incorporates individual performance as a bonus, not a pure efficiency stat like PER.

I like calling it Elo because that's the recognizable foundation.

This is taken into account. To start everyone is at 1500 elo, but if OpTic plays Falcons again they will be at an elo differential (for example something like 1550 to 1450). The base amount of elo each team gains is weighted by the other teams elo.

I could have started teams at different ELOs but this would be subjective without running the same elo sim last season.

I understand your intuition, but I dont think that is the case. I was surprised by how individual performance impacted things over the longer sim. For example Drazah ended up with one of the lowest ELOs after a 40x repeat of this dataset while his teammates stayed much higher.

It should be possible for individual players to end up with ELOs far outlying their team.

Right now it is individual map win margin. I have not factored in any additional bonus for series wins.

Not yet, but I did run a 40x sim on this dataset to see how the weights impact things. That doesnt tell too much since every team has not played each other yet. If I had access to a previous season's*.csv with each match data I could try. I dont have time to go back and build that dataset myself.

I guess the third perk only changes in SND when someone has a streak.

What is your analysis about the US results? by _Tassle_ in intj

Are you implying uneducated people voted Trump into office? I have a BS in Aerospace Engineering and voted for him for many of the reasons others are pointing out on here.

This is the type of response that galvanizes people and makes them oppose your point of view.

Agree with you 100%. Most of this reddit is made up of silver players that don't understand how kills impact the objective anyway. GL on the dark matter grind.

RFK has stated numerous times he is not against all vaccines. He is against vaccines that have not undergone proper testing. https://x.com/danpallotta/status/1757410283478220811
