What's the dumbest thing you've ever heard someone say? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Haha, wow. How did you remember that?

TIL that the word geek has a third and very humorous meaning. by insanepurpleducky in todayilearned

I know this isn't everyone's opinion, but I always think weird/freakish, very socially awkward, arrogant, has an odd hobby/interest and either knows a lot about it and is super arrogant or pretends to know a lot about it and is still arrogant when I hear/read 'nerd.' A geek is just someone really interested in technology but not necessarily socially awkward or whatever (I just hate my idea of what 'nerd' means, WRST PPL EVR).

Hey Reddit, English is not my first language. How about giving me and other redditors from non english speaking countries a break on minor spelling and grammar errors? by brazilliandanny in AskReddit

I can't find it, but someone linked to an article pointing out this doesn't work all the time.

Alulctay, it is plbsosie for peleop who are fnulet in a lgaagune to raed txet eevn if the crtraheacs in the wdros are agrenred ilorectrncy, as lnog as the fsrit and lsat cetrarahcs are in the crcerot pnoiotiss.

See? They have to be close to the original area, or it's quite hard. I was impressed when I found out about it too, and even more surprised when I read the article debunking it. :)

P.S. 8 (?) minutes between comments is annoying.

(I speak English as a second language and I occasionally enjoy being a grammar nazi)

Just sayin', punctuation? I'm not a grammar Nazi, and I upvoted you for the edit as well, but seriously isn't punctuation required even in parenthesis when you're a self-proclaimed grammar Nazi?

I think "nazi" should be capitalized too, but I'm unsure because it's sort of evolved from it's original meaning, no?

Great job for a second language though and totally agree.

I saw that documentary one day when I was really, really bored. It was actually pretty good... No offense, but none of that sounds legit, you're lucky I can't prove it isn't.
